Pay Range:

$100, 700- $134,300

 

Summary:

We currently have an opening as an Area Process Manager for #5 paper machine at our Savannah Mill. This position reports to the Finished Products Business Unit Manager and is responsible for managing all aspects of PM #5 in a manner that delivers target results in the areas of safety, reliability, cost, quality, productivity, and employee engagement.

 

The Job You Will Perform:

  • Lead Paper Machine #5 to injury free work environment through leadership by example and modeling safe behaviors. 
  • Lead the safety processes for the area including safety work systems, safety observations, and operator safety training.
  • Personal attention to and direct involvement in maintaining a clean and orderly work environment, including Improvements in the housekeeping standards through the 5S process.
  • Develop a Manufacturing Excellence based improvement culture within the PM #5 area.
  • Lead ongoing improvements efforts in IEPM, MWS, RCFA, Basic Care, and Preventative Maintenance efforts to continue meeting or exceeding world class standards.
  • Develop, maintain, and use reliable methods for all processes and improvements.
  • Assist with prioritization of daily and scheduled maintenance work along with coordination of manpower scheduling.
  • Meet additional manpower needs for training, safety, and product trials.
  • Ensures a quality product is produced for our customers.
  • Support the Quality Manager with issues and resolve problems as they apply to the manufacturing process.
  • Foster team environment to support an engaged workforce.
  • Set clear expectations for both team and individuals.
  • Understand and assist in meeting area costs versus budget.

 

The Skills You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent work experience in a manufacturing environment; experience in the pulp and paper industry preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) + years manufacturing experience.
  • Minimum three (3) years leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Detailed knowledge of industrial safety and environmental procedures and regulations.
  • Ability to track and measure performance utilizing standard methods/tools.
  • Ability to collaborate with peers and work well work others.
  • Strong commitment to reliability and the use of manufacturing excellence tools.
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.
