Position: Plant Production –Machine Operator Assistant:

International Paper is currently seeking qualified applicants for Plant Production – Machine Operator Assistant positions. 

We are looking for motivated individuals who are capable of performing a multitude of functions in a flexible, fast-paced production/manufacturing environment. Our workplace requires individuals who understand the needs of the business while maintaining a focus on safety, customer satisfaction, quality and productivity. Plant manufacturing experience preferred (hands on operation of industrial machinery/equipment). Successful candidates will be required to learn the duties of assistant and/or machine operator and be prepared to promote to the next position level when a vacancy becomes available.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Corrugated industry experience preferred.
• Ability to read a tape measure
• Performing basic math calculations
• Ability to work in manufacturing environment with varying temperatures based on season around machinery
• Interpret a variety of instructions given in written, verbal, or electronic forms
• Capable of proficiently utilizing test equipment
• Inspecting product shipments for accuracy and verifying the absence of manufacturing defects
• Consistent quality and count inspection of product to ensure specific directions are followed
• Follow all company safety rules and lock-out-tag procedures
• Mechanical Aptitude a plus
• Ability to practice housekeeping
• Assist Operator with job duties on the machine
• Other duties as assigned
• Must be willing to work off shifts, weekends, and overtime as required
