Why is this job for you:
The EUDR Solution Owner is accountable for the end-to-end delivery, performance, and continuous improvement of the IT solution supporting EUDR (EU Deforestation Regulation) compliance.
Operating across multiple business units this role bridges strategic oversight with operational execution, ensuring the solution aligns with business goals, regulatory requirements, and stakeholder expectations.
The EUDR Solution Owner leads the design, implementation, and lifecycle management of the solution, managing the incident/change and demand processes with our support partners and wider Service Delivery organization.
You will work within a small IT team liaising closely with the EUDR Business Compliance Team and the support partners both internal and external. Vendor management and cross functional relationship are key attributes to this role.
You will:
- Own the vision, roadmap, and lifecycle of the EUDR compliance solution
- Align the solution with evolving business needs and regulatory requirements
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement in the solution’s capabilities
- Align vendor roadmaps with DS Smith solution direction
- Ensure reliable, efficient, and compliant operation of the EUDR IT service
- Oversee service design, architecture, and integration with other systems
- Monitor and manage service performance, SLAs, and KPIs
- Manage the solution’s budget to ensure cost-effectiveness and value delivery
- Plan and allocate resources effectively across projects and operations
- Manage day-to-day operations, including incident and problem resolution
- Lead 2nd & 3rd Line support for EUDR and analyse root cause solution issues
- Document lessons learned and continue to educate vendor and user groups
- Coordinate with IT teams and vendors to ensure seamless service delivery across multiple technologies: AWS, WebApps, integration, and infrastructure
- Implement and maintain ITIL-based processes and procedures
- Responsible to monitor and resolve system background failures such as system jobs, flows and integrations
- Act as the primary point of contact for business stakeholders, including Compliance Officers and Managers
- Translate business and regulatory needs into technical requirements
- Provide regular updates and reports on performance, risks, and compliance
- Ensure the solution adheres to EUDR and other relevant regulatory standards
- Collaborate with compliance teams to stay informed of regulatory changes
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies
You have:
- Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems or another related field or the equivalent work experience
- ~10 years of experience
- Fluency in English
- Experience with ITIL or similar service management methodologies
- Development of Power Automate Flows
- AWS DEVOPs and ServiceNow knowledge
- Development of APIs and Integrations to other systems
- AWS DEVOPs and ServiceNow experience
- Web Apps & Power BI experience is an advantage
- Proven experience in IT service or solution ownership, ideally in a regulated environment
- Strong understanding of regulations and compliance frameworks
- Excellent stakeholder and vendor management, communication, and leadership skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Experience in working multiple full life cycle projects
- Ability to quickly troubleshoot problems
- Self-motivation with the ability to work individually or as part of a team
