General Labor Position will be for training purposes only and the successful candidate will  

advance into another position once trained and qualified. Other positions may include machine operator, forklift driver, etc. Starting pay rate for entry level is $17.16 hour, and rate is increased once qualified in the position. There is a .25 cent differential per hour for off shifts.  This is a manufacturing environment and the position would be on an off shift ie: second or third shift.

 

             Primary miscellaneous labor duties / responsibilities include:

 

             following all safety rules and practices;

             reading factory work orders, print cards, and other documents to learn customer requirements;

             identifying stock and products that correspond to work orders;

             performing assigned duties to insure that production needs are met;

             assisting other associates as needed;

             accurately using tape measures and other measurement and test equipment;

             inspecting, counting, stacking, and unitizing products according to customer specifications;

             identifying and segregating nonconforming (reject) products and materials;

             accurately completing time sheets, reports, lists, and other records;

             keeping the supervisor informed of any problems and/or unusual situations;

             maintaining work areas to plant standards of housekeeping;

             maintaining teamwork with machine crews and other associates; and

             performing other duties as assigned by supervision.

 

            NOTE:  General Labor is the entry level position for new manufacturing associates.

 

            The qualifications for general labor associates are the ability to perform the duties /responsibilities of the job with or without accommodation; the ability to read, write, and speak English; the ability to accurately read a measuring tape and ruler; the ability to use basic shop math; the ability to learn; and the ability to follow instructions, ask questions, and work            effectively as a member of a team.  Candidate must possess a high school diploma or G.E.D. Six months of prior manufacturing experience is preferred.

 

            Production supervisors evaluate general labor qualifications.
