The Job You Will Perform:

This position scope includes Containerboard field purchasing and storeroom operations at all mill locations. The Containerboard Procurement Execution Manager  will ensure local teams fully support mill performance goals and execute according to purchasing policies, best practices and procedures. Local Purchasing Managers and teams will have a functional reporting line to the Containerboard Procurement Execution Manager.  The position will report to the Director of Enablement and Execution. 

  • Responsible for monitoring purchasing and stores KPIs across the mill system and taking action to ensure performance at target levels
  • Track and report mill compliance to contract utilization and take action to drive ensure performance at target levels
  • Develop and deliver training and onboarding for new purchasing managers and support training needs for mill buyers;
  • Act as liaison between Enablementand mill teams and synergize  the objectives of both teams
  • Serve as point of escalation for purchasing managers and mill teams regarding vendor service or quality issues
  • Collaborate with Mill Managers on staffing and performance for the purchasing and stores organization
  • Lead performance improvement projects for the purchasing and storeroom areas
    • Responsible for coordinating and leading field purchase and storeroom trainings and support to provide teams best practices on:
    • Prompt and professional purchasing services to internal customers by communicating effectively with the Operating, Engineering, and Maintenance areas.
    • Developing facility purchasing teams to provide maximum customer service/support and understanding of processes and procedures.
    • Manage proper stores Processes such as Repair Program, Consignment Program, Vendor Managed Inventory Program, Scrap & Surplus Items & Materials
    • Helping teams to understand how to correctly maintain and store items in proper conditions, document correctly in the system and maintain counts to support operations & maintenance.
    • Identifying and implementing initiatives for optimizing storeroom inventory.
  • Support Storeroom Process Leader on skill building and knowledge transfer needs of stores personnel to drive storeroom performance to achieve targets and goals
  • Responsible for Storeroom performance and achieving targets 
  • Support and leadership of mill closure teams to ensure safe and ethical closure of facilities while minimizing costs and maximizing the value of asset transfers or sales.
  • Support of facilities where temporary support due to personnel changes are needed to maintain operations and help new team members advance on the learning curve.
  • Participate on corporate teams to provide field field back and be a liaison on key projects to help ensure feedback is provided, understood and successful implementation.
  • Promote a safe work environment, proactively contribute to the fascility and department’s safety program.
  • Adhere to Financial, Procurement and Internal Controls policies.
  • Adhere to Procurement Safety Leadership requirements for salary and hourly employees.
  • Adhere to Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS) Cost and Reliability requirements.
  • Work with other mill and corporate stakeholders on the creation and implementation of training modules
  • Adhere to mill Global Manufacturing Training Initiative (GMTI) requirements for Stores
  • Responsible for driving value and delivering cost savings to the mill.
  • Support implementation of Global Sourcing Agreements and strategies for purchasing and materials management process at the unit level.
  • Support mill’s 5S initiatives.
  • Must be able to wear all required personal safety equipment
  • May be required to work extended hours
  • Must be available for after hours / weekend duty, as needed
  • Normal Working Hours 7AM – 5PM Monday-Friday
  • Must be able to deal with multiple tasks that all have a sense of urgency
  • Estimated travel up to 50%

 

 

 

The Skills You Will Bring:

  • Microsoft Suite – Excel, Word, Power Point, Access, Outlook
  • SAP Material Management experience required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Proven skills in negotiating and administering contracts and agreements.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of accounting and internal controls.
  • Knowledge of maintenance/operations planning processes.
  • A BS/BA degree in Management, Supply Chain, Finance, or Engineering is preferred or equivalent related experience.
  • Experience leading and building teams
  • Storeroom/receiving or warehousing experience with +5 years preferred.
  • Mill Purchasing experience of +10 years preferred.
  • Prefer +10-years of experience working in an industrial manufacturing operation.   Paper Mill experience is preferred.
