6am-2pm (Monday-Friday) Saturdays required as posted   $16.67 per hour

The baler operator maintains and operates bailing equipment to bind trimmings and paper waste received from manufacturing machines.  Baler Operator must efficiently collect, segregate, shred, bale, store and load all scrap materials.

Essential Functions:

-Operate and maintain bailing equipment

-Collects all paper/board waste from manufacturing using forklift

-Assist maintenance in removing jams from baler and cyclone

-Maintains supply of wire in baler

-Assist in disposing of dust waste and changing filters when necessary

-Removes bales form baler and stores or loads onto trailer using forklift

-Prepare daily inventory; maintain records of weights of bales produced, tagging each -bale recording weight and grade on tag

-Keeps and maintains baler tracking logs and reports

-Responsible for housekeeping of baler area

-Turn in maintenance work orders to supervisor for repairs. Be proactive in the ---maintenance of the equipment

-Adheres to and promotes all safety policies and procedures.

-Performs additional duties as assigned

-Non biddable position; Not eligible for Production Technician Levels


Experience: One to three years working in a similar warehouse or manufacturing environment operating similar Fork Trucks. Certification Fork Truck and/or Scissor Lift preferred.

Knowledge/Experience/Skills: The Baler Operator must be able count accurately, do simple math and write legibly. The ability to safely operate a Fork Truck is an important skill. He/She must be capable of, standing, and walking for extended periods of time on concrete floors in a non-air conditioned building. The ability to follow directions and working responsibly by oneself is essential.

The hiring process for qualified candidates will include a pre-employment aptitude test and panel interview. All offers of employment are contingent upon successful drug screen, health assessment and background check. Multiple visits will be required to complete this process.
