We currently have an opening on 3rd  shift for a mechanic at our Austin, MN manufacturing facility located at 1900 8th St NE, Austin, MN 55912. This container plant manufactures corrugated packaging products for local and national customers.

Starting pay based on skills possessed.

We are looking for motivated individuals, who are capable of performing a multitude of functions in a flexible, fast-paced production environment. Our workplace requires individuals who understand the needs of the business while maintaining a focus on cleanliness and safety, customer satisfaction, quality and productivity. 

Specific responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Must be able to demonstrate basic skills with arc and gas welder for basic fabrication.
  • Must be able to do basic plumbing repairs.
  • Must be able to use precision measuring equipment.
  • Must competent in the use of computers and be able to create and close WO’s in SAP, and be able to fill in for AMS position during vacancies
  • Be able to read basic Blue Print/schematic relating to basic mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems
  • Must be able to know and understand production machines for basic repair.
  • Must be able to identify different lubrications and their applications and demonstrated use.
  • Must be able to perform operational machine functions for use in troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Must be able to parallel rolls and assist with tuning the knife.
  •  Must have basic troubleshooting skills.
  •  Must acquire special class boilers license within one year
  •  Demonstrate knowledge of entire plant.
  •  Must be able to operate the lathe and mill
  •  Must be an active safety leader ensuring themselves and all coworkers follow all safety rules.
  •  Must be able to communicate well with others.
  •  Must be able to work long hours including weekends.
  •  Must be willing to attend training, both onsite and external

 

Applicants must have a stable work history, good attendance record, positive attitude and a desire to produce quality work as part of a team.

Highly-qualified candidates would possess manufacturing experience in the corrugated industry.
