Objective:

Assist in leading and execute on all local, state, federal regulatory EHS requirements and company EHS programs at the plant level.

 

Key Functions:

  • Responsible for supporting and fostering the safe behavior and safety culture of the facility.
  • Input/ update safety leading indicators, LIFE project plan tracking, monthly reporting in IPS, etc.
  • Deliver reports to site management to track completion of critical tasks.
  • Maintain filling system - VOC Tracking (monthly), waste water management, permit management.  maintain certifications (required competency), inspections (storm water, cyclone, silo, etc.). 
  • Required submissions - HMBP, waste water surcharge/ summary reports, air tracking, storm water, training/change management/ECMS updates, waste management, etc.
  • Track required employee training (matrix) monthly. Responsible for makeup training process and new hire safety onboarding.
  • Responsible for plant-wide EHS communications from Corporate/ Regional EHS.
  • Participate in EHS calls and communicate/distribute materials to site leaders.
  • Coordinate EHS inspections as appropriate, review inspection results with site leaders to ensure deficiency correction.
  • Conduct incident investigations, complete investigation files, enter into IPS, update, move incident through workflow stages, and develop corrective action plans
  • Assist in communication with HR, Sedgwick, Local and Regional management on Worker's Comp.
  • Drive employee engagement and safe behavior through SWO completion and reviews, top observations and action plans based on observation findings from data gathered, communicate SWO results.
  • Lead and maintain contractor safety effort. Assist in development of contractor work plans and monitor compliance.
  • Coordinate and lead completion of KES. Create corrective action plan, assign tasks and track to completion.
  • Ensure active Safety Committee participation from all departments and shifts.
  • Work with lead team to develop and implement site-specific annual objectives for EHS.

Qualifications:

  • Must have demonstrated safety experience in the past, safety leadership role preferred.
  • Must be willing to work any shift and to work a variable shift schedule.
  • Must be willing to confront unsafe acts and conditions and take necessary corrective action including follow-up.
  • Must serve as a role model by personally following all plant safety rules and processes.
  • Should have basic computer skills:
  1. Word-processing
  2. E-mail
  3. Charts & graphs
  4. Trend analysis
