This position is for a 2nd shift (2pm-10pm) Partition Machine Operator. Overtime often required.
SUMMARY
Sets up operations on various partition machines. Sets Up, assembles, fills, cleans, lifts, sorts and stacks wooden/corrugated/foam products such as boxes, packing crates, skids, pallets and various components or subassemblies.
Assembler I
Ability to set up, operate, change over, and troubleshoot partition machine per work order specs.
- Maintain impeccable housekeeping
- Ability to read item specification sheet and complete appropriate production paperwork
- Understand and follow instructions and complete required paperwork
- Ability to recognize nonconforming material / product such as damaged or defective items
- Discards scrap or defective pieces of waste into scrap containers.
- Ability to read and use a standard tape measure.
- Inspection of completed work per quality standards. Log inspection to work order if required. Final inspection and tagging of product.
- Ability to work safety and identify possibly hazards or process improvements
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, JSA’s, work instructions, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, work orders and specification drawings. Proactively communicate to supervsior the identification of any errors on specs or any possibly process improvements
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to properly use a standard tape measure.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
