Pay Rate:
$69,500-92,600 *Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range. Relocation benefit is also available for this role.

The Job You Will Perform:
International Paper operates a recycling business which collects, sorts, and processes waste paper and other recyclables across North America. The business contributes to the U.S. paper recycling environmental success story and contributes to International Paper’s manufacturing success.
This position reports to the Plant General Manager at a Recycling Plant and is a hands-on leadership position responsible for providing direction to first and second shift employees and deliver results on key operational metrics. In addition, the Plant Superintendent is responsible for the following:
- Delivering a consistent safety environment and culture that promotes team member safety through driving improvements
- Striving for no injuries by fostering a safety first culture that includes engagement and ownership in the plant
- Managing costs within financial targets and having a working knowledge of the Plant’s Profit and Loss statement
- Providing leadership in transportation, operations, maintenance, and capital projects
- Ensuring compliance of HES policies and procedures
- Driving improvements to processes, work flows, safety programs, and costs.
- Identifying opportunities to improve plant financial results
- Supervising, directing, and coordinating personnel activities related to plant operations which include staffing, onboarding, directing work, performance management, and conflict management
- Developing direct reports for optimal workflow and succession planning[KE1]
- Ensuring quality of work, compliance with applicable federal and state health, safety and environmental regulations; regularly inspecting work in progress and providing direction and support as needed
- Providing safety and equipment training
- Leads daily plant operations and safety meeting
- Making recommendations for the acquisition of supplies, tools, and equipment while assisting in long range planning for facility and equipment improvements

- High School diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Preferred:
- Bilingual Spanish/ English highly preferred
- College degree or equivalent education and experience
- Proficiency in Spanish is a plus
- Previous supervisory experience
- At least 5 years of progressive job responsibilities working in a manufacturing environment
- At least 5 years in a managerial role supervising multiple shifts
- Experience manufacturing/processing industry
- Ability to relocate for future career growth opportunities
