Mechanical Reliability Engineer  

Pay Range: $104,100- $127,300

 

 

A Mechanical Reliability Engineer’s role is vital to improvement of equipment and processes reliability.   Reliability engineering is the enhancement of traditional mechanical engineering with a portion of process engineering to eliminate equipment and system failures.   Reliability Engineers need to have a passion for continuous improvement.  Reliability engineers need to interact with all the parts of the organization.   They must work hand in hand with craftsman and operators while being able to communicate effectively with supplier’s sales engineers and technology support.  They will work closely with operation and maintenance leaders to support high priority objectives in the area. A successful Reliability Engineer will improve the reliability of our manufacturing operations by working through sustainable processes that will accomplish the following objectives.

  • Improve maintenance work efficiency by applying Global Manufacturing Systems and the reliability elements.
  • Improve maintenance work efficiency by supporting the MWS Team in choosing the right work at the right time.
  • Improve PM Route execution and effectiveness.
  • Guide efforts to ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, facilities, control loops and safety/security systems.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Equipment Reliability Strategy
  • Criticalities Assessment Owner. Lead Development effort and keep criticalities current.
  • Owns maintenance strategy. Reliability Engineers are responsible for defining, developing, administering, and refining the equipment care programs. 
  • Predictive Maintenance: Develop quality PdM routes, modify routes when changes need to be implemented, and ensure communication is effective between core teams and technicians.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Develop quality PM routes, modify routes when changes need to be implemented, and ensure communication is effective between core teams and technicians.
  • Lubrication program: Ensure program is continuously verified and improve to prevent downtime. 
  • Support Core teams: Help resolve technical issues or repair procedures as required, coach maintenance FLL’s as needed
  • RCFA Facilitation: Lead all RCFA’s, but, ensures engagement of workforce, proper root causes identified, and action items are completed.
  • MWS Work participation: Participate in prioritizing Area work orders through the use of Prime-sorted backlogs, coordinate priorities with operations, ensure Management of Change (MOC) is utilized when necessary, ensure proper preventative maintenance shutdown work is completed, and ensure annual outage work is executed in a high quality manner.
  • Vibration Program: Work with vibration technicians to determine the health of critical equipment.
  • Participate in Capital Plan and Repair Plan development.
  • Backfill for Maintenance Front Line Leaders when necessary.
  • Member of weekend duty team.

 

Requirements:

  • BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred
  • 3+years’ experience at manufacturing facility preferred
  • Strong technical and maintenance background
  • Ability to manage and lead multiple projects
  • Preferred experience with Microsoft and SAP-PM Applications
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have good interpersonal skills with the ability to interact at all levels
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Strong presentation skills
