PACKAGING  ACCOUNT SPECIALIST

International Paper Company has an immediate opening for a Sale Account Specialist in our Western North Carolina Complex. This position will spend the majority of their time in the Charlotte, NC Container facility. This facility is significant to the company’s presence in the North Carolina market and services a unique customer base.

 

This developmental candidate will be responsible for working directly with the sales and manufacturing teams to maintain customer relationships through inside sales activities that include but are not limited to packaging design, specification development, order management, and direct communication with the customer. The candidate should possess strong oral and written communication skills as well as the ability to multi-task daily to balance information flow into and within the organization. The individual should have strong computer skills including agility in design software, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. In addition, they should have the ability to work within an order management and plant booking system. Typical daily responsibilities include order management, backlog management, inventory management, customer communication, and inter-departmental communications. The ideal candidate has the ability to handle complex accounts with a strong process and detail-orientation. The ideal candidate approaches problem-solving with a high degree of urgency and accuracy.

 

The candidate works well in a team environment guided by plant, department, and individual goals. The ideal candidate works well receiving input and direction from several different departments and levels of supervision and management. The individual interacts positively and professionally with internal and external customers. An understanding of the critical balance between manufacturing goals and customer expectations is an asset for the candidate.

 

This is considered an entry level and developmental position in the function. As such, the successful candidate should have some (up to 5 years) Packaging experience or associated class work, must demonstrate leadership potential and be open to career growth and relocation opportunities in the future. A Bachelor of Science degree in Packaging Science is required for consideration.
