$120,900 - $134,300

Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range.

This position is located at the Columbus, MS Global Cellulose Fibers mill.  As one of the largest softwood pulp producers in the world, this location produces bleached softwood pulp for use in paper and specialty products such as absorbent personal care products, pharmaceuticals, and photographic-based papers.  The successful candidate will be accountable for safety, environmental, reliability, and financial performance of the pulp machine area.  The position reports to the Business Unit Manager – Pulp Machine.

 

The Job You Will Perform:
 

  • Be a role model and champion for an injury-free workplace and promote safety and excellence in all areas of influence
  • Responsible for leading process safety improvements through personal commitment and other safety programs
  • Provides leadership to approximately 61 team members and ensures that all team members are treated with respect and dignity
  • Deliver clear expectations to team members around safety and environmental compliance
  • Responsible for gaining commitment and motivating employees toward a common goal in a non-union environment
  • Understands and utilizes the principles necessary to achieve and maintain a high-performance organization
  • Responsible for ensuring the pulp machine achieves production, reliability, quality, and availability targets
  • Responsible for providing technical knowledge that will help resolve operational issues and provide sustainable solutions
  • Champion the implementation of capital projects to ensure they meet stated business objectives
  • Responsible for establishing a culture of deliberate improvement in the pulp machine department

 

The Skills You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent work experience in a manufacturing environment; experience in the pulp and paper industry preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) + years manufacturing experience.
  • Minimum three (3) years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Detailed knowledge of industrial safety and environmental procedures and regulations.
  • Ability to track and measure performance utilizing standard methods/tools.
  • Ability to collaborate with peers and work well work others.
  • Strong commitment to reliability and the use of manufacturing excellence tools.
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.
