Pay Rate:
$106,000 - $130,000 - commensurate with experience
Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range.

This position supports International Paper’s Columbus Mill (CCF) located in Columbus, Mississippi. CCF is a vital part of International Paper’s Global Cellulose Fibers Business. We are a converting operation that produces bleached softwood pulp for use in paper and specialty products such as absorbent personal care products, pharmaceuticals and photographic-based papers.
The Job You Will Perform:
The Production Coordinator is a key leadership role at the Columbus Mill. This position is responsible for overseeing and managing the shift operating teams and achieving site performance goals and business strategies. In addition, Production Coordinators are responsible for team adherence to site and company principles and policies. This position reports to the Operations Work Systems & Byproducts Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Gain commitment and motivate employees toward a common goal in a non-union environment.
- Be a role model and champion for an injury-free work place and promote safety and excellence in all areas of influence.
- Ensure team members across all areas of the mill are 100% compliant with mill safety rules and programs.
- Ensure safety audits and PM safety routes are completed, documented, and deviations corrected.
- Ensure that all incidents including near misses and damage to company equipment are communicated immediately, documented, and investigated.
- Function as the sites “Incident Commander” in emergency scenarios and ensures all proper protocols are adhered.
- Ensure that all areas of the mill maintain high standards of housekeeping and coach area teams that need improvement.
- Identify environmental watch-outs and communicating concerns to the entire mill.
- Monitor and focus on mill-wide system to anticipate process impacts on safety, environmental, quality, and production performance
- Monitor and track key variables, assist in process problems identification and initiate corrective actions as necessary in conjunction with Process Resources and teams.
- Identify process problems with Process Managers and engage Process Managers and other mill resources when situation is beyond capability of area and team resources.
- Facilitate daily Process Resource meetings to communicate and execute daily plans across the mill by collaborating with Area Process Managers and the Mill Operations Manager.
- Know internal and external customer requirements and be a champion for delivering those requirements.
- Make frequent rounds – observe, analyze and work potential problems with Process Resources and area teams.
- Maintain a pulse of the shift team’s moral, engagement, and overall attitude and motivation level.
- Partner with Process Manager, Operations Manager, Process Resources, and other business partners as necessary to address specific issues that impact team and mill performance.
- Provide coaching to teams so they function with behaviors consistent with HPWS principles and Columbus Mill work system design.
The Skills You Will Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent work experience in a manufacturing environment; experience in the pulp and paper industry preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) + years manufacturing experience preferred.
- Working knowledge the Columbus Mill Growth and Progression System and the Columbus Operations Model is preferred
- Strong mill process knowledge or is learning agile and a critical thinker.
- Ability to coach and develop team members.
- Ability to collaborate with peers and work well work others.
- Strong organizational skills and ability manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.
