The Job You Will Perform:

Must be able to follow safety work procedures and safe work practices at all times

Will be responsible for facility/safety preventive maintenance

Will assist other Maintenance Personnel perform predictive, preventive/corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, repairing, upgrading, and installation within a high volume, continuous – run work environment throughout the facility

Will perform electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, steam system, and other repairs and installations as needed

Maintain clean and organized work areas, and clean-up work areas as part of completing assigned tasks

Must have experience in setup and operation of tools (both hand and power) used in repair, fabrication, lubrication, and cleaning

Must be able to ensure all maintenance shop equipment and facility are maintained at peak performance enabling superior production results

Will attend meetings, participate in problem solving and completing assigned training, follow JSAs/SOPs and all other tasks assigned by your supervisor

Shall record actions including repairs, parts movement, and time electronically

Must have the ability to bend, turn, twist and stand for extended periods of time

Must be willing to work all shifts and weekends depending on business needs

Must be willing to work independently, as well as in a team environment, solving problems.

Must be a dedicated, self-motivated, a self-starter, willing help set team and department goals, and be willing to cross train/work

Must be willing to keep supervision informed of problems and/or unusual situations

Flexibility and a commitment to working safe are required

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

The employee is regularly working on/near machinery that runs up to speeds of 1,000 fpm and is equipped with steel rolls, knives, slitter blades, belts, and die cutters.  Tasks are completed in close proximity to electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, gravitational, mechanical, chemical, and thermal energy sources.

At times the employee must troubleshoot energized equipment, with potential exposure to electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, and thermal energy sources.

The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and fumes or airborne particles.

Employee must work on/near steam injected vessels with temperatures ranging from 340◦ to 370◦.

Position requires walking across conveyor equipment using platforms three to four inches in width.

Employee must work in near proximity to fork lift traffic.

The employee is frequently exposed to vibration, fumes, or airborne particles.  

Plant temperatures can range from 50°F to 110°F with seasonal changes.

Pay is $31.86 per hour, dependent on skillset and knowledge/experience

 

The Skills You Will Bring:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and experience in general machine and fitting shop practice, welding, maintenance troubleshooting, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and pipefitting. Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to communicate effectively.

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.  Ability to perform calculations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to read a tape measure, micrometer, dial indicators, pi tapes, and manometers.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.  The employee frequently is required to climb or balance.

Employee must regularly climb portable and fixed ladders and stairs and perform tasks at elevations and on elevated platforms.

Employee must climb in, on, and around equipment and machinery to make adjustments, repairs, and perform maintenance, requiring good balance and hand, eye, foot coordination.  Employees may have to work in confined areas or awkward positions in order to complete tasks.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
