The Job You Will Perform:
- Lead and direct plant maintenance and motivate employees by setting an example of superior behavior, attitude and performance to ensure a safe work environment and a quality product.
- Provide support to production supervision in the daily production of corrugated board, to include training, planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating employee performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; promoting safety, quality production and teamwork; resolving conflicts.
- Effectively communicate operational information in both oral and written format at all levels: crew members, other supervisors, plant management, office personnel and outside customers and vendors.
- Manages the maintenance budget for the facility including running and reviewing SAP reports and maintaining a spreadsheet of YTD expenditures
- Utilizes systems, including KIWI and SAP, to track maintenance key performance measures, including mechanical/electrical downtime, maintenance reliability indices, maintenance breakdowns, etc.
- Manages the work order system and tracks work orders through completion. Compiles a report related to work order efficiency for the leadership team at the facility.
- Responsible for planning of maintenance projects including scheduling of personnel (employees and contractors), maintaining project budget, accessing machine manuals, ensuring needed parts are in inventory, working with production team to schedule time and ensuring work orders are in the system, updated and completed throughout the project
- Works in conjunction with the Maintenance Manager and local leadership team to schedule predictive/preventative maintenance activities to keep all equipment in good working order.
- Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, leads some Environmental Health & Safety initiatives in the facility including: air permitting, storm water compliance, HAZMAT, waste water compliance, roof maintenance, Infrared inspections, compressed air management, cooling tower/chiller, air handlers, fire & safety system, inspections, contractor training, employee training, electrical, hot work, etc.
- Responsible for the inventory/parts management of the facility’s storeroom, including maintenance of inventory in the system (SAP), ensuring proper inventory levels are maintained, and storeroom organization routine.
- Responsible for working with MPS coordinator to develop kitting processes for use throughout the manufacturing facility.
- Assists Maintenance Manager as needed in the development and management of capital projects.
- Fills in for maintenance manager as needed to manage the entire facility maintenance department and may be assigned direct supervisory responsibility for a shift or team of maintenance hourly technicians.

The Skills You Will Bring:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Four years maintenance experience in a manufacturing plant is required.
- College and/or related technical courses are preferred.
- Five years’ experience in the corrugated box industry with experience in electronics, hydraulics, pneumatics and electricity preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to lead people is required.
- Prior mechanical, electrical and/or maintenance troubleshooting experience is required. Corrugated experience is highly preferred.
- Solid Computer / System skill set is required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Prior supervisory/leadership experience and/or demonstrated situational leadership skills is preferred
- Prior experience with predictive/preventative maintenance programs, inventory and capital project planning is highly preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
- The ability to multi-task and prioritize work effectively is required
- Must be flexible with hours and have the ability to work weekends as needed
