Pay Rate:
A J1 Instrumentation Tech starts at $36.78 per hour. Successful journeymen will have the opportunity to quickly gain new skills and promote into advanced positions earning up to $41.85.

Shift:
Day Shift: 7:00am – 3:30pm
12 Hour Rotating Shift – 7:00am – 7:00pm or 7:00pm – 7:00am(once qualified)
Position Requirements:
- Must have one of the following:
- Successful completion of electrician apprenticeship or comparable education
- Three (3) or more years of industrial instrumentation maintenance experience
- Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Eligible for employment in the US
- Basic computer skills
- Participate in two-week New Hire Integration (NHI) in a classroom setting
- Successful completion of 125 Day Probationary Period
Mill Operations -You must be able to:
- Undergo a drug screen for illicit use of drugs as a condition of employment
- Submit to periodic drug screens as a condition of employment
- Work any shift and/or a rotating shift schedule
- Work overtime on a regular basis and with last minute notification
- Work holidays and/or weekends on a regular basis
- Respond to emergencies during off hours and weekends
- Wear required safety equipment and PPE
- Continue to develop skills to become a multi-skill technician
- Operate or work in industrial conditions (i.e. warm/hot, dusty/dirty, around hazardous chemicals, noise, and heavy machinery or elevated working surfaces with proper safety training and safety protection)
Position Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance such as changing contacts, checking motors and the operation of robotic systems
- Configure and calibrate smart and non-smart transmitters for flow, pressure, pH, consistency, density, conductivity and temperature
- Calibrate and configure pressure, temperature and flow switches
- Install, configure and calibrate a Smart Positioner on control valves
- Troubleshoot, drag and repair electrical and electronic systems on converting plant equipment including any electromechanical production equipment
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot power distribution systems, branch circuits, lighting systems, transformers, and wiring methods
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot relay logic, ladder diagrams, control components including photo eyes, motor starters, relays, limit switches, proximity sensors, timers, solenoids, servo drives, frequency inverters, linear drives, and encoders
- PLC programs, ability to troubleshoot ladder logic (read use for troubleshooting), components (CPU back plains, I/O boards, counters, modules, and devices) and communications modules (Ethernet)
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, DCS logic drawings, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics, loop sheets and basic P&IDs
- Ability to further electrical/instrument, pneumatic and hydraulic maintenance skills
