Summary:

The MPS Clerk is responsible for coordinating the purchasing, inventory, and stocking of spare parts and operating materials, filing repair and inspection reports and work orders. Primary responsibility is the procurement of manufacturing parts and supplies and daily storeroom activities. The MPS Clerk will report to the Maintenance Manager.  Schedule will require ability to work alternating weekends.

 

 

The Job You Will Perform:

  • Assist in performing daily storeroom activities including parts ordering, expediting, receiving, inspecting, cataloging, stocking, issuing, and inventory control
  • Assist with the computerized storeroom management; compares inventories to record management system or computes figures from records such as purchase invoices to obtain current inventory
  • Assist in procuring all operating materials, including maintenance, plant and office
  • Stocks and issues materials or merchandise
  • Follows best practices in stores and purchasing
  • Assist with kitting of materials for maintenance projects
  • May pick up emergency parts from local vendors
  • Issue, monitor and track purchase orders
  • Work with Assistant Maintenance Supervisor on PO and invoice issues
  • Ensure all chemicals ordered are approved for use at plant
  • Ability to drive powered industrial truck (forklift and man-lift)
  • Other duties as assigned

 

 

The Skills You Will Bring:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required.  
  • Strong communication, interpersonal skills and organization preferred.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work effectively preferred.
  • Solid computer/systems skillset-working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel is required.
  • Prior experience in parts procurement, inventory management and SAP is preferred.
