Relief Production Supervisor


Direct supervisor to hourly employees who is responsible for supervision, direction and leadership in safety, quality, productivity and engagement to ensure goals are met.  Will provide Leadership relief on weekends and to cover for vacancies, absences and vacations.  This employee will be scheduled to work 36 hours per week. 12 hours on Saturday (and Sunday if required) and 24 hours during the week Monday – Friday.  The position may rotate with other existing FLL’s every 60-90 days.



  • Relieve the frontline leader team on weekends on a rotating basis to allow current leaders weekends off.
  • Provide leadership coverage in Corrugator, Converting, Maintenance and Shipping departments on weekends, vacation coverage, absence coverage and/or when vacancies require.
  • Provide Relief FLL support to all shifts.
  • Lead the training process for new employees; insuring thorough technical training is delivered by personally administering the training and/or directing and managing the process so other trainers are providing required, documented training to insure safe, technical competence.
  • Supervise employees in the daily production of corrugated board/boxes, to include training, planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating employee performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; promoting safety, quality production and teamwork; resolving conflicts.
  • Lead and motivate employees by setting an example of superior behavior, attitude and performance to work efficiently and effectively, while ensuring a safe work environment, and a quality product. 
  • Effectively communicate operational information in both oral and written format at all levels: crew members, other supervisors, plant management, office personnel and outside customers and vendors. 
  • Actively promote and ensure compliance with safety, quality and other programs and initiatives utilized within the organization.



  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required.  
  • Prior experience in the corrugated packaging industry strongly required.
  • Must have technical competence in Corrugator or Converting Department
  • Previous experience as a trainer highly preferred. 
  • Two years of supervisory experience preferred.
