Production Supervisor - Liner Department

Pay Rate: $68,300/yr to $77,350/yr

 

Category/Shift: Salaried Full Time (6pm-6am, Friday-Sunday)

The Job You Will Perform:

  • Supervise machine centers and provide leadership for the production team in the areas of safety, process reliability, plant and company policies, housekeeping, waste control, productivity improvement, cost effectiveness, and people system.
  • Comply with and manage all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping; ensure employee personal hygiene and sanitation practices/procedures are adhered to. 
  • Ensure compliance of all quality checks; maintain product specifications and ensure production team produces in accordance with them; manage and approve product rework; manage non-conforming notifications, customer complains, and quality corrective action logs.
  • Maintain compliance in auditable areas including, but not limited to: food safety audits (as directed by HACCP and SQF code for Food Packaging Manufacturers), GMP audits, plant inspections, SOP audits, OSHA/EHS audits, sanitation audits, and all state/federal regulations; Assist SQF Practitioner, Quality Department, State and federal agencies with audit and inspections (in the event of), and implement and manage department audit findings, non-conformance, and corrective action to production team.
  • Coordinate upkeep of machinery with Maintenance team to minimize downtime; assist in troubleshooting machine problems;
  • Plan and assign work to employees on a daily basis; ensure accountability for completion of work assignments safely, to expected quality, on-time, and in accordance with SOP and plant/company policy.
  • Oversee and conduct employee training; create, implement, and consistently manage GMP, SOP, work instructions, and employee training materials.
  • Establish high morale within your department by showing fairness, consistency, and an interest in addressing/resolving employee problems.
  • Ensure accuracy of all production team and department records, including: production counts, inventory levels, employee records, training records, coding for traceability, SQF records, and document control system.
  • Promote continuous improvement and reliable methods within the organization.
  • Additional duties may be assigned by management.

 

The Skills You Will Bring:

Minimum qualifications include:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Supervisory experience of 3+ years is required.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office programs are required.

 

Preferred Qualifications include:

  • College and/or technical coursework
  • Supervisory experience of 3+ years in a manufacturing environment
  • Prior experience in the corrugating packaging industry, flexible liquid packaging, and/or injection molding is highly preferred
  • Knowledgeable of continuous improvement methods such as Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma, etc
