The International Paper, Indianapolis SpaceKraft Plant is accepting applications for full-time entry-level Production Workers. The Indianapolis SpaceKraft plant is located at 4901 W. 79th Street, Indianapolis, IN.

 

Applicants may be considered for openings in any of our production departments, including the Converting Liner Machine and Cassettes Departments. We are hiring for all shifts.

 

INTRODUCTION:

International Paper’s SpaceKraft business produces liquid bulk packaging solutions, specifically flexible packaging (liners), corrugated packaging, and injection molding.

 

We are looking for motivated individuals who are capable of performing a multitude of functions in a flexible, fast-paced production environment. As an entry-level Production Worker, we will train you on all aspects of your job and you can look forward to opportunities for advancement in your future.

 

JOB DUTIES:

Primary entry-level Production Worker duties include, but are not limited to:   

  • Following all safety rules and practices;
  • Operating machinery;
  • Consistent quality and count inspection of a product, which includes identifying and segregating nonconforming (reject/scrap) products and materials;
  • Interface with a computer and enter data into various software platforms;
  • Reading factory work orders, product spec sheets, and other documents to learn customer requirements;
  • Accurately completing time sheets, reports, lists, and other records;
  • Accurately using tape measures and other measurement and test equipment;
  • Regularly perform general clean-up and housekeeping responsibilities;

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications:

  • High school degree or GED (or equivalent experience) preferred;
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment preferred;
  • Prior experience in the corrugated manufacturing industry or food manufacturing industry highly preferred
  • Stable work history and good attendance record;
  • Must be willing to work a five day work-week shift schedule (days/evenings/nights), as well as daily and weekend overtime as required (sometimes with short notice);
  • Candidates who are willing to work 2nd or 3rd shift are preferred

 

We are looking for the following knowledge, skills, and abilities in a successful candidate:

  • Proven track record on safety;
  • Solid technical aptitude skills and basic math skills;
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office programs required;
  • Attention to detail and a focus on producing quality product;
  • The ability to work with others in a team environment with minimal supervision;
  • Professional attitude and good communication skills

 

COMPENSATION:

The starting wage for entry-level Production Workers is $17.23/hour, with the potential for substantial increases after 90 days based on the position you are permanently assigned to. A shift differential is provided to 2nd and 3rd shift workers. Your compensation also includes an excellent benefits package that includes medical, dental, disability, paid vacation as and 401(k) and retirement savings plans.
