$91,500 - $122,000

Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range.

The Job You Will Perform:

The  Crude Tall Oil (CTO) Manager position is a management position in the mill with fully integrated power and recovery operations. The position is to safely optimize the CTO Plant processes, with a focus on increasing yield and throughput..  The ultimate objective for this role is understand all aspects of Turbine and Recovery processes while driving excellence for  overall CTO productivity. The CTO Manager will ensure accountability of crews and team members with the first line leaders in regards to production.  In addition, drive continuous improvement through variability reduction, training, outage planning, and daily operating strategies.  There will be a heavy focus on scheduled Capital improvements in the area. Act as the process expert for CTO operations while managing the CTO as an area SME in a goal-oriented environment to deliver and exceed target results in the areas of safety, engagement, cost, reliability, and quality.  This position reports to the Utilities Superintendent.  The goal for this position is to safely optimize the CTO Plant processes, with a focus on increasing yield and throughput.  The successful candidate must be able to effectively interface with the Pine Chemical Business, IP Technology, mill operations and maintenance personnel. 

 

Key Accountabilities

 

  • Lead non-capital and capital CTO production initiatives.
  • Work closely with Recovery and Evaporator APM to maximize soap recovery and support soap recovery initiatives as designated by the by Recovery APM.
  • They will be responsible for CTO quality and making sure product is compliant with customer specifications.
  • Serve as logistics coordinator for CTO, as ensuring proper transportation is in place the meet schedule adherence and minimize impact to CTO production including budget.
  • Single point of contact for IP Technology for CTO operations.
  • Serve as mill representative on the Pine Chemical’s CTO Best Practice Team.
  • Responsible for ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of downtime for CTO plant and facilitating RCFAs as needed.
  • Assure a safe and highly motivated workforce through effective leadership in safety and environmental efforts while addressing concerns.

 

  • Ability to demonstrate personal accountability to maintain an engaged workforce for salaried and hourly members.

Qualifications:

 

Qualified candidates should possess knowledge of the CTO area operations and processes. This includes knowledge of maintenance management principles and should have the talent to secure, display, communicate, evaluate and analyze data.  Candidate should understand the use of key metrics to help manage the overall operations.   

 

Candidates for this position must also possess a clear ability to manage and coordinate multiple tasks, and demonstrated ability to work with and lead teams to execute work based on standards and procedures. 

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline with a minimum of three (3) years manufacturing experience preferred
  • Green Belt in ME preferred
