Finance Core Converting Team Lead

 

Pay Rate:

$110,000 – 124,500 (PL 13)

Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range.

The Job You Will Perform:

This position is part of the leadership team in the Business Finance Operations RTA Converting group.  This position will lead a team of up to 5 analysts and will provide oversight for the centralized financial functions for facilities in the PSNA East Area as well as support the Core Converting Process Manager on projects and special assignments.  Below are the key job responsibilities: 

  • Ensure transactions are recorded in compliance with GAAP and established accounting policies/business procedures.
  • Sustain and monitor internal controls for centralized processes to ensure that business requirements and company policies are adhered to.
  • Responsible for the completion of month end closing processes, balance sheet account reconciliations and reporting accuracy for approximately 40 PSNA East Area facilities. 
  • Assist with the integration of DS Smith North American sites onto IP systems and processes. 
  • Determine team staffing levels and qualifications necessary to perform work assignments.
  • Establish team goals and clearly communicate expectations to direct reports along with managing work expectations for direct reports.
  • Measure team work performance in comparison to set department targets and expectations.
  • Provide consistent communication on the alignment of project work across the department.
  • Manage change to encourage creativity and flexibility in achieving department objectives.
  • Collaborate with fellow Converting Managers and Team Leads on cross functional tasks, projects & employee training.
  • Provide consistent employee coaching, mentoring and clear constructive feedback to direct reports for their growth & development.
  • Facilitate process improvement projects to further streamline current centralized processes.
  • Assist in resolving issues with other departments to enable the improvement of Converting Department overall end-to-end processes.

 

The Skills You Will Bring:

  • BS or MS degree in Accounting or Finance required with 6 or more years of experience.
  • Highly proficient Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Detailed/Expert knowledge of SAP financial modules
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to work in a multi-tasking, rapidly changing environment with firm deadlines.
  • Strong desire for continuous process improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate employees to achieve results and work in a fast paced environment.
