$65,100 - $86,800

The Job You Will Perform:
The Division Payroll Analyst is part of the Global Cellulose Fibers business within International Paper. This position will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee compensation and benefits. This analyst will be the administrator of the payroll system accounting and will ensure compliance with federal, state, and company regulations. The analyst will also collaborate with HR and finance teams to manage benefit programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, incentive plans and leave policies. This will include analyzing data to identify trends, resolve discrepancies, and support decision-making related to compensation and benefits. The key customers are the GCF Finance teams including mill support, Capgemini outsourcing team, Human Resources, Information Technology, and payroll and benefits third party vendors. This position reports to the GCF Manager of Business Accounting.
Payroll:
- Set-up and maintain the general ledger accounting for the Dayforce Payroll System
- Prepare and post miscellaneous payroll accruals and adjusting entries
- Oversight, review and approval of payroll & payroll tax reconciliations
- Oversight of tax payments and reporting by Dayforce
- Complete payroll tax audits and address internal and external tax inquiries
- Payroll error handling and problem solving
Benefits:
- Prepare and post all benefit accrual entries including health insurance, incentive plans and other miscellaneous accruals
- Prepare and post all pension service fees amortization, adjustments and various entries
- Assist with budget assumptions and planning as it relates to benefits accounting responsibilities
- Oversight, review and approval of employee relocation accruals and various entries provided by Capgemini outsourcing services
- Support locations, staff groups and third-party administrators with research requests, ad-hoc analysis, and issue resolution associated with departmental responsibilities
- Oversight, review and approval of account reconciliations
The Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge You Will Bring:
- BA/BS in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum 3 years of general accounting and business concepts knowledge and experience
- Strong understanding of payroll and benefit administration
- Ability to create relationships and liaise with both internal and external customers
- Working knowledge of SAP
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in Excel
- Strong analytical skills, organizational skills and priority-setting abilities
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to identify opportunities and work on process improvements
- Strong interpersonal skills and customer centric approach
- Action Oriented, Customer Focus, Dealing with Ambiguity, Attention to Detail, Problem Solving, Learning on the Fly, Time Management and Organizational Skills
