Financial Planning & Analysis and Strategy Execution Lead - West
Pay Rate:
$125,900 – $167,800
Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range. Variable pay may provide additional opportunities for financial awards. This job is eligible to participate in IP’s annual incentive plan.

The Job You Will Perform:
We are seeking a high-impact FP&A, Optimization & Reporting Manager West. This critical leadership role is responsible for facilitating the execution of strategy deployment, developing, executing and tracking of optimization initiatives, driving financial planning, operational reporting, cost optimization, and capital investment analysis across manufacturing and commercial operations. You will be a key business partner to Group VP, Group Finance Director, Business GMs, Region Controllers, plants, and commercial leaders, translating performance into actionable insights, supporting capital decision-making, and enabling margin and productivity improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy Execution & Deployment:
- Support the development of key strategic initiatives with data analytics to assist in identifying opportunities
- Support initiative builds through EBITDA build tool (upload and analysis, monthly, quarterly and year over impact calculations)
- Development of materials for the East/West MBR (to include KPI Scorecard, Strategic Priorities/Goals, Actual vs Targeted performance analysis, RCCMs)
- Support Strategic Business Units with MBR set up, design, and analytics
- Implement governance, training and deployment of EBITDA tool and initiative tracking within East/West finance team and East/West business.
Business Optimization & Cost Efficiency
- Support plants in identifying and executing cost savings and efficiency opportunities.
- Coordinate with procurement, supply chain, containerboard on initiative opportunities
- Track impact of continuous improvement and Lean initiatives on cost, productivity, and throughput.
- Drive working capital improvements through inventory analysis and process optimization.
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- Lead the development of annual plans, rolling forecasts, and monthly performance reviews.
- Support strategic initiatives with robust financial modeling and scenario analysis.
- Ability to provide recommendations for improvement opportunities based on business insights
- Identify risks and opportunities relative to plan and forecast.
- DSS financials integration (East)
Commercial & Capital Planning & Investment Analysis
- Analyze National and Local commercial opportunities and evaluate for 10Q EBITDA impacts (volume, margin lift/erosion)
- Provide analytics from salesforce tool for “Are we winning” in regards to National and Local pipelines
- Manage the capital planning process in partnership with AMM, engineering & operations.
- Monitor capital project execution, budget compliance, return on investment, and cash flow.
- Lead post-completion reviews to validate outcomes and ensure accountability.
Performance Reporting & Data Analytics
- Own management reporting processes and dashboard development (e.g., Power BI, Excel).
- Ensure reporting is timely, accurate, and aligned with business needs.
- Provide insights to guide tactical decisions and long-term strategies.
Business Partnering & Leadership
- Act as a strategic finance partner to operations, commercial, and functional teams.
- Lead regular performance reviews and support action planning to improve results.
- Mentor and develop financial analysts or team members.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and transparency.
The Skills You Will Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business
- 7+ years of accounting and/or finance experience; work experience in manufacturing facility highly desirable.
- Corrugated and/or related finance experience in manufacturing environment a plus
- Strong command of ERP systems, Excel, and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau).
- Proven ability to link operational performance to financial outcomes and strategic priorities.
- Exceptional analytical, communication, and business partnering skills.
- Ability to deal with ambiguity, along with intellectual curiosity, and critical thinking skills are a must
- Strong attention to detail, ability to manage and measure work along with strong process management and planning skills
- Comfort around higher management and strong presentation skills
