The Job You Will Perform:

The Fleet & Lease Analyst will provide comprehensive administrative and analytical support for lease activities across GCF locations. This role involves close collaboration with GCF mills and external lessors to support sound leasing decisions, ensure accurate documentation, and manage the procurement and processing of leasing contracts, purchase orders, and payments. The analyst will oversee the full lease lifecycle, ensuring smooth operations and compliance with lease accounting requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee proper lease accounting for GCF’s global leases.  These leases include: warehouses, buildings, equipment, motor vehicles, and other miscellaneous assets.
  • Ensure PowerPlan, GCF’s lease accounting system, reflects all current leases as performed through our monthly update process
  • Responsible for the monthly PowerPlan update process which involves coordinating with various internal and external teams to capture new leases, modifications, and terminations. This is performed by updating upload templates for PowerPlan and running SQL scripts to identify required updates.
  • Prepare financial reports and financial statement footnotes for both internal and external reporting purposes.
  • Work with the tax department, business locations, IT, and global accounting teams (including US and EMEA) to ensure all departments are aligned with ASC 842 lease accounting standards.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing facilities’ financial personnel, Accounts Payable, and Sourcing to ensure SAP properly reflects the information in PowerPlan and works with these groups to investigate questions and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining a relationship with the external PowerPlan team who support GCF’s lease software.
  • Develop documentation and review account reconciliations for ASC 842 lease accounts
  • Work with the current 3rd party vendors to ensure monthly data is provided timely
  • Work on various process improvement initiatives as needed to streamline the lease accounting process including the integration of source systems and updates to ensure accurate books and records.
  • Develop, maintain and rollout training materials to all users globally on the new operating lease accounting principles, policy, procedures and PowerPlan

The Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge You Will Bring:

  • 2 – 4 years of Finance, Accounting or Sourcing experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related degree
  • Accounting system experience (preference to SAP)
  • Excel experience using intermediate to advanced functions, and the ability to analyze large datasets are strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of SQL is a plus
  • Master’s Degree in Accounting and/or active CPA, also a plus
