Pay Rate

$160,000 - $205,000 (PL 18-19)

Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range. Variable pay may provide additional opportunities for financial awards. This job is eligible to participate in IP’s annual incentive plan.

Overview

National Accounts is an organization of 180 employees that manages customer relationships and account profitability on 4.8MM tons of business which drive over $6B of revenue. The annual S&A budget for N.A. is ~$40MM spread over 14 cost centers; it also includes annual Meetings, Dues and Donations of ~$0.5MM.

 

The Job You Will Perform

  • Compensation plan analytics, processes, and payments
  • Rebate analytics, processes, and payments
  • Support in analytics of NA bids/pricing & contract evaluation & approvals
  • Oversight of the preparation of publication analytics and alignment with finance for budgeting/forecasting
  • Forecasting and alignment with business on volume changes for budgeting/forecasting
  • Oversight of annual budgeting process for National Accounts S&A
  • Evaluation of capital needs (machine allowances, box upcharges for customers)
  • Working capital/DSO impacts and analytics related to NA customers/Bank Fees
  • Oversite of costing system alignments and impacts
  • Consolidation of various department processes into centralized SOP/Control manual for National Accounts
  • Oversight of internal controls
  • Liaison with FP&A as required

 

Compensation (CLI)

New CLI for NAMs will require additional oversight, analysis, review, budgeting/tracking/exception process, and potential involvement in payment submission process

 

Customer Rebates & Sales Incentive Compensation Process

  • Manage a team of analysts that perform the accounting & payments of customer rebates
  • Manage a team of analysts that perform the accounting & payments of the sales incentive programs

 

Contracts

  • Analysis on contracts- valuation of impact and alignment with DOA
  • Contribute to contract process improvement: SOP development and process mapping
  • Support for proposed Price Tracker tool automation (coordination with NAC Finance as required)

 

Pricing

  • Audits of key controls surrounding deal analytics.  E.g., annual audits of deal templates
  • Participation in process improvements for the analytical work – helping to design tools (or manage projects) to improve translation of Financial and Witron data for deals
  • Participate in and complete analytics with NA team.  Ensure alignment with financial policies.
  • Pub change preparation & analytics

 

Customer Experience

  • Supporting Price Change processes (calculation and validation processes) to ensure accurate revenue recognition
  • Evaluation of Rebate payment process
  • Support designing process or system improvements for completion of Price Lists, CVA work, etc.

 

Chessboard/National Acct Margin Lift/Concessions & Operations

  • Seek opportunities to align with Area/Region/Plant Finance functions to improve data generation for strategy (liaison with plants and provide insight as SME)

 

Contract Council

  • Participate as required to improve the Council’s understanding of system changes or opportunities that can improve our insight into profitability
  • Liaison to Area/Regional Finance to share results from contract negotiations to improve understanding of commercial deal points at the plant level

 

Customer Commitment Centers

  • Small project capital submissions (testing equipment, etc.)
  • Involvement / oversight of leases for CCCs
  • Facilitation of MCCC revenue stream for printed samples
  • Purchase cycle oversight for each CCC including corrugated board for sample production, inks for EFI digital printer, maintenance, etc. (Invoice management, NOPO approvals, etc.)
  • Annual budgeting process data & analysis (7 cost centers)
  • Annual CCC financial audits

  • Support managing internal/external audit engagements

The Skills You Will Bring:

  • College degree in Accounting/Finance, advanced degree, or certification desirable
  • 7-10 years Finance Controller experience or associated work
  • Knowledge of corporate policies and procedures
  • Ability to accomplish goals through organizational agility
  • Strong administrative, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Must be a self-starter and deliver on objectives
  • Demonstrate solid leadership potential
  • Ability to work with teams and ensure alignment
  • Ability to deal well with ambiguity
