Pay Rate:

$118,400 – $157,800

Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range. Variable pay may provide additional opportunities for financial awards. This job is eligible to participate in IP’s annual incentive plan.

 The Job You Will Perform:

This role has responsibility for analysts and 1 reporting specialist with a highly specialized skill set, and the timely and accurate development of pricing proposals for National Accounts customers (175 existing and all prospects), as well as large regional/local customers as requested.  In a typical year, the team evaluates 1-2MM+ tons ($1-$2B annually) of NAC volume and is charged with improving annual contribution dollars in excess of $800MM while maintaining/growing relationships with both internal and external customers.   

As the subject matter expert on pricing strategy and customer proposals this position is key to the success of our National Accounts organization.  The average turnaround time for bids is two weeks (end to end) making organization, analytical and time management skills paramount to success.  Also, the manager’s ability to strategize and creatively develop optimal solutions and comprehensive pricing proposals is expected. 

In addition, the manager is responsible for all National Accounts monthly reporting (5MM tons and $5 billion sales) and critical EBITDA forecasting. 

Key Accountabilities: 

  • Bid process coordination and account pricing/estimates.  This includes managing efforts to perform detailed analysis of customer specifications and collaborating with manufacturing to understand the plant’s capabilities; ensuring the analysts coordinate/update all estimates through the plants or enter specifications into pricing models; reviewing/analyzing profitability summaries/analysis, as well as post bid analysis. 
  • Managing a team with a complex workload and critical responsibilities while maintaining high energy and engagement levels within the group. 
  • Evaluating price leakage which includes monitoring pricing campaigns and ensuring price levels are accurate by customer; assisting with national account contract reviews and bids by monitoring and evaluating costs, credit issues, and warehousing. 
  • Performing customer/product analysis which involves product substitution analyses (market and financial), as well as cost versus benefit analysis relating to new product developments. 
  • Developing new and improved processes such as bid process, pricing analysis, standardized reporting, IT projects, and contract/deal worksheet management. 
  • Evaluation of payment terms and supply chain financing initiatives, including margin impact of any incoming proposals. 
  • Provide Executive & Senior Leadership with accurate analytics to help support strategic business decisions.
