Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range. Variable pay may provide additional opportunities for financial awards. This job is eligible to participate in IP’s annual incentive plan.

Overview:
The Payroll Specialist (“Specialist”) will report to a Payroll Team Lead. Specialists will work in a 5-6 member team supporting a geographical district of approximately 37 facilities. Specialists will review and submit approved payroll data from the timekeeping systems into SAP to ensure Hourly Manufacturing team members are paid timely, accurately, and in accordance with applicable federal and state guidelines governing Gross Pay. Specialists will stay abreast of payroll matters in their geographical district; matters such as PSL, unionization, union contract ratification and other pay related activities, and compliance with state and local laws.
The Job You Will Perform:
- Review time and attendance data along with associated approvals in the time and attendance systems to ensure accuracy of pay.
- Begin the escalation process for time not approved by authorized supervisors to adhere to established time and attendance submission deadlines.
- Upload approved time and attendance data into SAP by the established deadlines.
- Provide support to the on-going standardization and optimization of time and attendance submission processes to sustain and increase efficiency and accuracy of payroll.
- Calculate and submit supplemental pay files for unscheduled events such as:
- Retro-Pay Changes
- Union Ratification Bonuses
- Reward Payouts
- Other unscheduled events
- Confirmation of base pay rates for Hourly Manufacturing team members to ensure accuracy of pay.
Qualifications:
- College degree in Accounting/Finance or commensurate experience
- Proficient Microsoft Excel skills
- Knowledge of SAP modules
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to work in a multi-tasking, rapidly changing environment with rigid deadlines.

Functional/Technical Skills:
- Experience with Workbrain and or Kronos Payroll System
- Knowledge of SAP HR
- Other time and attendance software experience is a plus
Travel: Out of state travel is required. Travel is estimated at ~10% but may vary depending on proximity to geographic area of responsibility. Relocation is not required.
