The Job You Will Perform:
The Replenishment Planning Master Planner Analyst position is a part of the Supply Chain team within the North American Industrial Packaging Group. It is responsible for conducting strategic analysis and recommending solutions that balance NAC supply and demand, as well as finding solutions to help resolve supply gaps, while maintaining target inventory levels in accordance with the business direction. The Replenishment Planning Master Planner Analyst will lead and collaborate with Containerboard Master Planner, Replenishment Planners, schedulers/planners and Replenishment Planning Team Leads to optimize paper supply by providing SKU level guidance and leading RPs through Month 0 forecast adjustments and supply disruptions.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Translate forecasted box demand (from demand planning) into a roll stock matrix of grade and width combinations
- Analyze and support the development of solutions to resolve for out of stock conditions in box plants
- Facilitate improved forecast accuracy by analyzing the quality of marketing intelligence and continuous improvement of forecasting tools/methods. Educate box plant personnel on the MI process to significantly minimize month over month forecasting errors
- Perform sensitivity analysis of changes to plant product mix (gain/loss of customers, items, machines, etc.)
- Perform periodic review of grades and roll-width matrix using the simulator tool. Conduct analysis of paperboard combinations and present recommendations for appropriate combinations
- Measure and report SKU reduction and coordinate gate-keeping for addition of new SKUs
- Run max rolls monthly and evaluate opportunities
- Run and post actuals with forecast accuracy improvements through small projects
- Master Plan for plants within a region
- Execute Master Planning processes consistently to achieve improved results (including but not limited to following established/documented processes, procedures, best practices, ensuring data cleanliness, process execution timeliness, adoption of new tools/processes and simulation compressions)
- Serve as primary interface to NAC for forecasting
- Analyze forecast accuracy and forecast bias results and identify opportunities for improvement
- Develop capability to lead RSA implementation with NAC and RPs
- Collaborate with Plant Planners and Replenishment Planners to increase their knowledge of the supply chain processes, share best practices, and drive improved process adherence
- Review and update Kiwi parameters and business rules annually at each facility
- Support the understanding and effective usage of the trim partners’ report
- Drive inventory reduction through new SKU management and matrix change execution
- Drive the reduction of low volume SKUs and overstocked/slow moving inventory
- Collaborate with the Containerboard Master Planner, Replenishment Planners and Replenishment Planning Team Leads to ensure a consistent flow of accurate supply to the box plants
- Ensure a supply source is established for new SKUs and matrix changes
- First point of contact for the replenishment planners regarding supply disruptions
- Provide SKU level guidance and direction to RPs regarding Month 0 forecast adjustments and resolution of supply gaps
- Create materials and extensions in SAP
The Skills You Will Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience
- 2-4 years in production/inventory management in a converting operation with a broad range of products and customers preferred.
- Proficient in SAP ECC/APO, and Containerboard OMD, with a proven ability to quickly integrate and apply system knowledge to drive operational efficiency preferred
- Working knowledge of converting operations and equipment.
- Working knowledge and experience in utilizing converting production scheduling tools preferred.
- Developing analytical skills with the ability to gather and manipulate data using a supply planning tool (Simulator) and SAP.
- A self-starter that is willing to take on a task and develop the process while implementing. This individual is comfortable working with sometimes competing objectives (customer service levels, working capital targets).
- Developing a comfortable working with all levels in the organization.
- General understanding of inventory science and methodologies
