The Job You Will Perform:

As a Senior Software Developer at IP, you will be expected to produce and implement software solutions to support business needs. You will work across all levels of IT and our business partners to define, plan, and implement solutions to meet business needs.  In addition, this role will take the lead on operational and technical projects as assigned.

In this role, the candidate will be able to work independently with minimal to no supervision. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills are required. Experience with agile methodologies are a plus.

The goal for this position is to create software solutions that add business value. The expected candidate will be a full stack developer with a vast knowledge of past and current software platforms, adjacent technologies (ex. database, BI, infrastructure, etc.), and overall architecture related to IT development teams and team standards.  

This position will be responsible for selecting technical paths for projects with long-term sustainability, planning project schedules for multiple team members, working with multiple technical teams in a collaborative fashion, and developing high-level system design diagrams and documentation for program design, coding, testing and debugging.

  • Be self-directed and provide technical leadership for other developers
  • Develop architecture and high-quality software design for solutions
  • Develop tools and applications by producing clean and efficient code
  • Lead internal team members on project efforts
  • Analyze functional specifications and create technical design documentation throughout the SDLC
  • Identify, prioritize, and execute tasks in the SDLC
  • Invite input from others and influence others on new ideas and processes
  • Provide estimates and duration for development efforts and coordinate team members to achieve these milestones
  • Perform validation and verification testing of code through reviews, debugging, and automated test components
  • Build key relationships and contribute to a positive work environment through collaboration with teammates, other technical teams, and stakeholders
  • Take ownership of your working environment and constantly strive to make your environment more efficient
  • Be a positive role model and champion of IT and corporate processes, services, and initiatives
  • Be in a constant state of learning to educate yourself and adopt new technologies and processes relevant to the team and various platforms that the team supports

Technical Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Senior Software Developer with a successful track record of developing quality software products and shipping production ready software
  • BS/BA in Computer Science or a related degree, or equivalent experience
  • High level of knowledge with object-oriented design and development skills
  • In depth knowledge of .NET programming languages (ex. C#, VB.NET) and the .NET Framework, .NET Core, as well as Blazor and Material Design UI frameworks
  • Experience with ancillary technologies necessary for Internet applications: HTTP, TLS, TCP/IP, POP/SMTP, IIS, etc.
  • Extensive knowledge of C# using Visual Studio for WebForms, MVC, ASP.NET Core (Blazor), and Entity Framework
  • High level of understanding of Web Services protocols such as REST, SOAP, and API design for extensibility and portability
  • Ability to use version control software (ex. Git)
  • Experience in migrating from legacy VB and VB.NET into newer technologies, C# is a plus
  • Knowledge of relational databases including Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle
  • Familiarity with various operating systems (ex. Linux, Mac OS, Windows)
  • High level knowledge of Azure DevOps
  • Knowledge of high scalability projects involving cloud-based infrastructure design and implementation is a plus
  • Ability to lead an internal development team for the purposes of software delivery and coordinate and monitor all resources during the development cycle to ensure on time delivery to customers
  • Ability to interact with customers and other stakeholders on requirements, development progress, testing phases and conflict resolution
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodology
  • Analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude
  • Ability to work completely independently and keep leadership informed
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Mentoring and training junior team members
  • Excellent written and oral communications

Key Challenges:

  • Managing projects, enhancements, and ServiceNow tickets simultaneously across multiple Process Teams

  • Constantly evolving technologies to learn and implement in new solutions

 

Knowledge and Experience:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field, or equivalent work experience   
  • Minimum of 8 years relevant IT experience
