The Job You Will Perform:
This position works closely with Containerboard mill teams for timely planning of production. The successful candidate will be responsible for detailed and optimized scheduling (including trimming, sequencing, and sourcing of production schedules) in a centralized environment. These responsibilities are inclusive of ad hoc and strategic analytics around minimizing cost to the Containerboard system while maximizing machine capabilities. The planner will work closely with Supply Chain leadership and key stakeholders to effectively execute all planning functions at the Containerboard primary mills.
- Manage rough-cut schedules, trim and inventory for product groupings and/or manufacturing resources
- Mange block schedules to optimize dates and meet customer commitments
- Coordinate and align with the paper mill around the manufacturing processes, constraints, and capabilities to build an optimal production schedule
- Understand the Make to Stock (MTS) and Make to Order (MTO) operating model processes to fully master SAP planning and scheduling
- Lead small projects, meetings, and activities internally
- Manage alerts associated with roll supply between the primary mills and box plant locations to meet production schedules
- Communicate with the supply planning management and team on daily activities, issues, and concerns that affect the supply chain
- Evaluate the output from the supply network planning run
- Manage Non-Conforming Product utilization process for exact and non-exact match inventory
- Cover additional machine responsibility, including after hour and weekend on-call, as needed
- Solve complex problems to meet the needs of our various customer channels, mill operations, and logistics
The Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge You Will Bring:
- BA, BS or equivalent in business or related field
- 2+ years’ experience in a supply chain role
- Ability to work under pressure, handling multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Analytical skills
- Attention to detail
- Proficiency in common software programs (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Self-starter, demonstrated initiative to get the job done
- The following qualifications are preferred:
- Experience in the containerboard business
- Yellow Belt Certified
- Proven project management experience
- Familiar with end-to-end supply chain concepts
