Pay Rate:

$61,000 - $76,000

Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range. PL may vary by experience

The Job You Will Perform:

The selected candidate will be assigned to the Inbound Transportation Planning team.

  

The Transportation Planner role has responsibility for supporting Inbound transportation for 13 Industrial Packaging mills utilizing the SAP operating model, creating shipment plans and managing delivery exceptions to ensure customer pickup or delivery requirements are met.  In this role, the planner will effectively analyze freight optimization, mode selection, and carrier selection to meet service requirements at minimum cost.

 

  • Create executable and timely transportation plans for assigned facilities through the utilization of supply chain operating model processes
  • Ensure shipments are monitored and exceptions resolved prior to failures and within SLA expectations
  • Achieve performance measures: Vehicle Weights, Routing Guide Adherence, Cost to Serve, Best Mode, Open Door Time, Direct Loading, On Time Pickup/Delivery
  • Build and maintain relationships with multiple stakeholder groups, both internal and external, to meet cost and service objectives
  • Proactively respond to requests utilizing knowledge of up and down stream business processes
  • Work with our sourcing partners to understand trends, obstacles, and opportunities for improvements
  • Lead/participate in deliberate/continuous improvement projects
  • Identify, develop, and implement freight/cost saving initiatives
  • Understand and follow policies, procedures, and best practices established for managing transportation planning
  • Provide feedback on carrier performance to motor and rail carrier managers
  • Able to gather and analyze data to identify opportunities and track performance
  • On-call coverage of nights, weekends, and holidays is a requirement

 

The Skills You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor degree required, preferably in Business, Supply Chain Management, or Industrial Engineering
  • 2+ years of supply chain experience preferred
  • Demonstrates understanding of end to end supply chain processes
  • Able to multi-task across several tasks and follows through appropriately to completion
  • Ability to achieve results in a team environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, handling multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to quickly learn new business processes and technology
