POSITION OVERVIEW 

Design and development of Web-based IT solutions that model paper mill production, warehousing, and shipping functions.

The Application Development Analyst I will develop and maintain IP’s 100% proprietary Omega Software Suite which models production, warehousing, and shipping functions, and integrates heavily with the SAP ERP & other mill systems.  Omega is being modernized and implemented to a web platform using the .NET framework over a multi-year period.  This position offers significant opportunities to utilize modern development tools, approaches, and practices in a pseudo-agile, team-oriented, and fast paced development environment.

 

 KEY ACCOUNTABLITIES

IT Development Role: Design, Review, Develop, Test, Implement, and Support custom built IT applications:

  • Formulates and defines system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding to develop or modify moderately complex information systems.

  • Prepares detailed specifications for program development.
  • Designs, codes, tests, debugs, documents, and maintains those programs.
  • Responsible for projects that include multiple steps and are longer in duration.
  • Competent to work on most phases of applications systems analysis and programming activities, but may require instruction and guidance in other phases.
  • Offers rotational Tier 1 afterhours support.
  • Some travel may be required.
  • Technical expert in one or more highly specialized areas of applications systems analysis and programming.
  • Provides technical leadership on complex projects.
  • May act as expert in business or functional area.
  • May play the role of solution delivery manager or project manager.
  • Formulates/defines system scope and objectives.
  • Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time and form of desired results. 
  • May be responsible for multiple phases of a project.
  • May lead others and be responsible for instructing, directing and checking the work of other analysts.
  • Other duties as assigned

 KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • BS/BA in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in an IT custom application development role
  • 2+ years’ experience in web development using .Net 4.6 or higher, with .Net Core preferred.  Angular 2.0+
  • Domain Driven Design (DDD) and S.O.L.I.D. Principles
  • Visual Studio IDE
  • Azure’s DevOps Solutions, Scrum ALM, Kanban Boards, and DevOps metrics preferred.  GitHub.
  • Messaging frameworks such as MassTransit, RabbitMQ, and SignalR.
  • Modern object-database mappers such as Entity Framework for Oracle.
  • Oracle database developer tools such as OSQL Developer or TOAD.
  • Coded unit testing frameworks such as NUnit or xUnit.
  • Automated UI testing tools such as Selenium.
  • APM and analysis frameworks such as Application Insights or LogRocket.
  • Documentation frameworks such as GhostDoc & Swashbuckle/Swagger.
  • Scrum delivery methodology.
  • Experience with International Paper SCOM systems such as Web-based Omega for 6+ months preferred
