Maintenance Associate Program Overview

WHAT IS THE MAINTENANCE ASSOCIATE PROGRAM? Starting Pay: $19.81

The Maintenance Associate Program is a North American Container (NAC) initiative focused on identifying and developing both internal production employees as well as external individuals with mechanical aptitude that can grow into skilled maintenance roles over time with focused training specific to our work environments.

Internal and/or external candidates, if qualified, will be required to participate in a well-defined and legally defensible formal selection process that must be followed without deviation. After being selected, the successful candidate will then enter the program which involves a rigorous training plan including on-the-job learning as well as on-line My-Learning courses. Along the way, the Maintenance Associate will be required to demonstrate proficiency in a myriad of mechanical and electrical skill sets. Once he/she is ready to certify as a General Mechanic/Journeyman, the individual will be set up to complete the AON General Mechanic/Journeyman test. In order to move into a maintenance journeyman/mechanic role or the appropriate classification at the facility, the individual must successfully pass the test. It is anticipated that most individuals will complete the program in approximately eighteen (18) months.

International Paper is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.  All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, color, religion, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, age, or any other characteristic protected by law.
