The Pine Hill Mill is currently seeking Instrumentation Journeymen who are dependable with excellent problem-solving, communication and teamwork skills. The hourly rate of pay for this position is $37.41 for day workers.

The Job You Will Perform:

This is a journeyman-level instrumentation technician responsible to complete scheduled maintenance, preventive maintenance and break-in work along with performing many other duties both as part of a team and independently. Duties for this position include, but are not limited to, troubleshooting equipment through the DCS systems, single loop controls, data acquisition and camera systems. Install, calibrate, maintain electronic and pneumatic field instruments for flow, level, temperature, vibration, hydraulic and analytical systems. Repair, calibration of final control elements such as control valves, pneumatic and electronic positioners. Knowledge of various test equipment for calibration, preventive maintenance and the ability to read loop sheets, P&IDs and electrical schematics. This position includes a progressive comprehensive electrical training program to develop into an IE Technician.

  • Troubleshoot, configure, maintain PLC systems
  • Install, troubleshoot, maintain single loop controls for various field systems
  • Instillation, calibration, troubleshooting various manufactures of analog and SMART instruments and analytical equipment
  • Shop and field repair of final control elements such as pneumatic valves, electric valves, solenoid operated valves, calibration of pneumatic and SMART valve positioners
  • Routine and regulatory calibration of field instruments for boilers and environmental systems
  • Troubleshoot, maintain pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Read and redline loop sheets, P&IDs
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams & electrical schematics
  • Communicate with operators while troubleshooting loops
  • Communicate & coordinate with vendors during equipment installation, maintenance, or repairs to assure compliance to all company requirements
  • Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on routine and extended annual outages
  • Understand and follow NFPA70E regulations involving Arc Flash and Shock hazards
  • Maintain shops, DCS work areas and field work areas in a 5S standard
  • Assist electrical Journeyman as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Experience:

  • Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Eligible for employment in the US
  • A degree or certification in Instrumentation Studies; or at least 3 years of work experience in Instrumentation systems.
  • Able to function in a team environment
  • Willing and capable of working shifts

 

Plus – must be willing to meet the following requirements:

  • Undergo a drug screen for illicit use of drugs as a condition of employment
  • Submit to periodic drug screens as a condition of employment
  • Work any shift and/or a rotating shift schedule
  • Work overtime on a regular basis and with last minute notification
  • Work holidays and/or weekends on a regular basis
  • Respond to emergencies during off hours and weekends
  • Wear required safety equipment/PPE
  • Continue to develop skills to become a IE Technician
  • Operate or work in industrial conditions (i.e. warm/hot, dusty/dirty, around hazardous chemicals, noise, and heavy machinery or elevated working surfaces with proper safety training and safety protection)

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Industrial Technology or other related instrumentation/electronics field
  • Relevant work experience in an industrial environment
  • Strong math/physics understanding
