Position Title: 

Maintenance Mechanical Associate

 

Pay Rate:

$28.02/hr. up to $34.41/hr. ($.55 to $1.36/hr. shift allowance)

Multiple factors, including individual experience, skills, and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range.

 

Sign on Bonus:       

New hires are eligible for up to $5,000 in relocation assistance for those that relocate more than 75 miles from the Port Wentworth Mill.

The Job You Will Perform:

  • Assist journeyman-level mechanics in routine maintenance work as well as performing many duties independently
  • Replacing valves and gaskets
  • Basic welding
  • Repacking pumps and valves
  • Forklift operations
  • Screwed pipe and tubing installations
  • Cylinder repair
  • Pump repair and replacement
  • Repair of rotating assemblies
  • Roll repair and replacements
  • Motor replacements
  • Repair of mechanical drive systems

The Skills You Will Bring:

  • Must be currently 18 years of age or older
  • Eligible for employment in the U.S.
  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent work experience
  • Basic computer skills
  • Able to function in a team environment.
  • AND one of the following
  • One (1) year experience in any of the following Maintenance Skill Areas: MILLWRIGHT, MACHINIST, LUBRICATION, WELDING, AUTOMOTIVE MAINTENANCE, OR PIPEFITTING.
  • OR
  • One (1) year vocational/technical education in the Mechanical Disciplines: MILLWRIGHT, MACHINIST, WELDING, OR PIPEFITTING.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in any of the IP Core Maintenance skills or related disciplines (millwright, machinist, welding, or pipefitting).
  • Relevant work experience in an industrial environment
  • Strong math/physics understanding
  • Millwright/Machinist backgrounds on the mechanical side
