Global Cellulose Fibers – Port Wentworth Mill GA – Compensation will be based on experience


International Paper’s Port Wentworth, GA mill is looking for a Mechanical Reliability Engineer to join the Reliability Team and become a key player in the facility’s continuous reliability improvement. A successful reliability engineer will be able to interact with all parts of the organization and work hand in hand with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering. The Reliability Engineer drives continuous improvement through positive influence, IP best practices, FMEA, and RCFA. This position will have on-call responsibilities and will report directly to the Mill Reliability Leader.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Equipment Reliability Strategy (FMEA Process)
  • Criticality Assessment Owner
  • RCFA Facilitator
  • Manufacturing Work System team member
  • Drive Reliable Methods and QA/QC
  • Provide Reliability Oversite of PdM, PM, Precision practices/training, Facility Preservation
  • Support development of 5 year Major Maintenance and Capital Plan
  • Recommend action based off of PdM findings


  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineer; other engineering will be considered, or equivalent experience
  • Ability to lead multiple projects of varying complexity and progress
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to influence all levels of the organization
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products
  • Experience with SAP a plus
  • Ability to work weekends and long hours on occasion as required
