Pay Rate:
$112,000 – $134,600
Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range.

The Job You Will Perform:
The Safety Manager at International Paper’s Riegelwood Mill will be responsible for providing guidance and overall direction to the mill’s Occupational Health and Security & Safety programs to meet local, state, federal and corporate Health & Safety requirements. The individual will measure and evaluate mill performance against key indicators ensuring the mill complies with health/safety laws and regulations. PL will vary depending upon experience and qualifications.
- Oversees the Health & Safety program of the mill
- Manages Health Services, Fire Protection and Emergency Response activities
- Develop, implement, and maintain effective systems, procedures and training to achieve an injury free work environment
- Identify trends, emerging issues, and develop improvement strategies to solve issues
- Establish preventative health and safety programs to identify and reduce risk from potential hazards in the workplace
- Coordinate Industrial Hygiene Monitoring activities for noise and chemical exposure
- Integrate continuous improvements in the health and safety systems and drive employee engagement to achieve desired results
- Maintaining compliance with OSHA logs and requirements
- Serve as the Process Safety Management Coordinator
- Have excellent knowledge and understanding of mill operations
- Work with corporate H&S Staff to develop and implement Global Performance Standards
- Identify and implement deliberate and continuous improvement activities to manage and reduce risk
The Skills You Will Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety or technical discipline with significant related experience and exposure to OSHA general industry requirements
- Process Management experience
- At least 5 years of Occupational Health and Safety experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment
- At least 2 years of experience in a fully integrated pulp/paper mill preferred
- Expertise in Process Safety Management (PSM) a plus
- CSP and/or CIH certification preferred
