Recovered Fiber Leader Mansfield/Red Riv

Procure approximately $150MM (800M tons) of OCC and DLK Recovered Fiber for Mansfield and Red River mills.  It will also supervise the OCC sourcing for the Orange mill.  Aggressively manage quality of incoming fiber at supplier locations to ensure a supply of fiber that will meet customer expectations for the finished product.


This position is responsible to assist in the development, negotiation, implementation and ongoing supplier management associated with recovered fiber purchases and quality programs.  Responsibilities include development and implementation of initiatives that will maximize cost savings while providing, safe, high quality fiber and related transportation services.  The position supervises one direct report.

This position will report to the Manager Recovered Fiber and will require 20-30% travel.  The position is located in Shreveport, LA.



Significant Responsibilities        


  • Work incident and injury free.  Speak up when you see any situation that may compromise this goal for any team member or contractor.
  • Supervise and lead the development of direct reports.
  • Negotiate with suppliers monthly; manage deliveries from multiple shipping locations, to ensure a reliable supply of recovered fiber into Mansfield and Red River mills.
  • Actively manage and coordinate receipt and quality monitoring of fiber.
  • Engage suppliers to drive improvements with the safety, quality and supply chain elements of the material purchased and delivered.
  • Engage with mill management at all three mills frequently to ensure mill and fiber supply operations are jointly aligned through the GMS Cost sub-element and that demand/supply planning and inventory management functions are optimized to achieve lowest cost.
  • Manage inventories and deliveries to meet optimized operational and financial objectives for the enterprise.
  • Lead business oversight of Shreveport offsite warehouse operations.
  • Coordinate with Recovered Fiber team to optimize advantage cost fiber to our mill system.
  • Coordinate with Recycling team to optimize advantage cost fiber through our brokerage and recycle plant systems.
  • Ensure consistency in application of the quality program across all IP recovered fiber using mills and identify any concerns or improvements in the application of the recovered fiber quality program.



Key Challenges


  • Surfacing and executing business improvement opprotunities in the face of dynamic market and supply chain challenges.
  • Provide leadership for improvement initiatives by partnering with the mills, key supply chain stakeholders and the Recovered Fiber team, which results in a higher level of operational performance at a cost advantage.





  • 5+ years of experience in the paper industry with expertise in recycled paper sales or procurement preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Highly organized and self-driven
  • Demonstrated ability to meet project deadlines with minimum supervision 
  • Analytical skills and proficiency with enterprise application suites preferred
  • Ability to function as a team member in a high performance work system to
    accomplish overall objectives
  • BS/BA preferred 




  • Experience analyzing and presenting complex information
  • Knowledge of sourcing and fiber purchases
  • Ability to work independently without significant direction
  • Knowledge of SAP, BW, Microsoft Excel, and SharePoint
  • Manufactruing Excellence certified
  • MS degree
