Accountant II

 

Pay Rate:

$55,500 - $74,000

 

Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range.

The Job You Will Perform:

 

  • Perform month-end close activities, including required data entry, accruals, reporting and variance analysis and explanations.
  • Oversee cietrade transactions to SAP; Collaborate with a shipping & receiving coordinator to ensure timely and accurate data entry
  • Enter and process hourly payroll in SAP weekly and support plant personnel on inquiries.
  • Manage purchasing process flow for the plant: Purchase Requisitions, Purchase Order Creation, Vendor Payments, and other A/P related issues.
  • Support the plant in maintaining current AR
  • Manage and enforce accountability to ensure internal controls are in place and executed correctly to ensure compliance with corporate and business policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Plan and lead Peer Reviews for the region.
  • Act as key representative for formal internal audits.
  • Manage Balance Sheet Analysis for Quarterly Reviews and Annual Formal Review
  • Analyze and answer inquiries related to sales, purchasing, margin, and cost variances
  • Train and mentor other Finance Specialists
  • Track operating expenses and provide related reporting
  • Facilitate the annual records management process for the plant
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis in support of Region Finance team initiatives.
  • Support the region Finance team by helping to manage team communications and processes.
  • Collaborate with plant team members to help identify and manage improvement opportunities
  • Lead or participate in other plant, region, or business activities, meetings, projects, reporting and analytics

The Skills You Will Bring:

  • Computer software proficiency in: Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Financial Systems
  • Accounting (ie SAP) system input and reporting experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communications skills

Education/Experience we will consider:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; or a Bachelor degree in another field in combination with accounting or finance related work experience.
  • Knowledge of accounting functions and theory such as purchasing/invoicing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, reporting and analytics, general ledgers, month-end or quarter-end closing processes.
  • Preferred experience with SAP financial and HR applications.
