Machinist Job Requirements

Process for Qualifying for Opening:  Interested J1 Machinists or J3 Mechanical Craftsmen will successfully complete; An on-line Assessment Technical Assessment, A Technical Machinist Interview and a Machinist Hands-On-Assessment.

• Operating Milling Machines
  • Knee and Column Mills
  • Vertical Boring Mills
  • Setting and Truing Cutting Heads
  • End Mills and Shell Mills
  • Fly Cutting

• Field Machining Equipment
  • Journal Squirrels
  • Flange Facers
  • Line Boring Bars
  • Key Cutters

• Welding and Fabrication
  • Spray Welding
  • General Fabrication

• Knowledge of Machinist Safety Requirements
  • Ability to Work Safe & Maintain Housekeeping
  • Guarding
  • PPE
  • SOPs

• Blueprints, Drawings and Computers
  • Perform basic SAP functions
  • IP e-mail, Microsoft Office tools
  • Prepare, Read and Understand Blueprints
  • Prepare, Read and Understand Drawings
  • Prepare, Read and Understand Shop Sketches w/measurements
