Area Maintenance Manager Fibers (PL 14 )

  

Pay Rate: 

$100,700-$134,300 

Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range. 

  

Variable pay may provide additional opportunities for financial awards. This job is eligible to participate in IP’s short–term incentive plan.

Summary: 

We currently have an opening as an Area Maintenance Manager for the Fibers maintenance organization at our Savannah Mill.This includes the digesters and woodyard area. This is a leadership role where the individual is responsible for providing direction, guidance and support for all direct and indirect reports.  

 

The Job You Will Perform: 

  • Individual will be primarily responsible for the safety, efficiency, productivity, engagement, cost control and overall effectiveness of the area maintenance workforce.  
  • Candidate will be responsible for maintaining and improving the preventative/predictive maintenance system, provide excellent equipment care, and follow-up to ensure safe, timely and satisfactory completion of corrective maintenance work.  
  • Participate in maintenance budgeting, execution of annual outage repair budgets and department strategic plans.  
  • Lead the safety processes for the area including safety work systems, safety observations, and operator safety training. 
  • Personal attention to and direct involvement in maintaining a clean and orderly work environment, including Improvements in the housekeeping standards through the 5S process. 
  • Develop, maintain, and use reliable methods for all processes and improvements. 

  

The Skills You Will Bring: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical experience 
  • Five plus years of relevant maintenance or operations management experience 
  • Supervisory experience (Preferably in both maintenance and production) 
  • Seven or more years of paper industry experience required 
  • Thorough knowledge of reliability concepts and applications 
  • Demonstrated leadership in building and leading effective teams 
  • Demonstrated ability to create and sustain change 
  • Demonstrated ability to engage a work force 
  • Knowledge of Industrial Safety procedures and OSHA regulations 
  • Strong interpersonal skills 
  • Proactive problem solver
