Pay Rate:

$69,500-$92,600

Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range.

 

Variable pay may provide additional opportunities for financial awards. This job is eligible to participate in IP’s short-term incentive plan.

Summary:

The Savannah Mill is currently seeking an Emergency Response Coordinator at International Paper who is responsible for leading and managing emergency response initiatives within the Mill. This role involves developing training programs, organizing emergency plans, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. The coordinator will work closely with various teams to enhance emergency preparedness and response capabilities, while also acting as a liaison with external emergency services.

 

The Job You Will Perform:

Including, but not limited to:

  • Lead and coordinate all applicable drills and training for emergency response technicians and site’s “HEAT Team”.
  • Participate in critical planning discussions that involve emergency response scenarios.
  • Work with area teams to review and organize emergency plans for all high-risk areas / tasks.
  • Author any required SOPs concerning ERT training, equipment maintenance & calibration, and rescue plans.
  • Responsible for upkeep of the Mill’s Emergency Action Plan (EAP)
  • Develop/maintain inspection criteria for all supply/equipment stored and used by ERT Team.
  • Act as a liaison between mill and outside emergency services.
  • Develop and manage confined entry rescue plans, review and re-approve plans on a regular basis.
  • Maintain a current roster of all active members of HEAT Team. Report any inactive or non-participant members to leadership.
  • Encourage and campaign for new membership, actively promote HEAT Team through mill communications.
  • Schedule annual inspections and testing for SCBA cylinders.
  • Work with Mill Nurse and EHS Department to schedule training for current and new HEAT members.
  • Manage and file ERT / HEAT Team training records.
  • Develop and administer Quarterly emergency response training scenarios for HEAT Team.
  • Plan and administer required emergency evacuation drills for all mill employees.
  • Coordinate maintenance of site’s emergency evacuation system, ensure testing is completed weekly
  • Participate in new hire integration process to train on relevant emergency response procedures and preventative measures
  • Facilitate hands-on confined entry training for applicable Mill team members
  • Ensure fire system inspections are conducted at appropriate frequency and is responsible for timely repairs / insurance provider notifications
  • Lead insurance provider visits pertaining to fire system inspection / maintenance

 

Skills You Will Bring:

  • 5+ years of experience with emergency services preferred
  • Good people skills
  • Recognized as a safety leader
  • Ability to develop Standard Operating Guidelines and necessary training to comply
  • Work independently
  • Computer skills (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
  • Presentation skills
