(PL 12)

$86, 800 - $115, 700

 

Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range.

 

Variable pay may provide additional opportunities for financial awards. This job is eligible to participate in IP’s short-term incentive plan.

Summary:

The Savannah Mill is currently seeking a Mechanical Front-Line Leader.  This position reports to the Area Maintenance Manager and is responsible for leading the area maintenance activities across the entire machine. 

 

The Job You Will Perform:

Including, but not limited to:

  • Lead the team to an injury free work environment through leadership by example and modeling safe behaviors. 
  • Responsible for making sure that all team members are trained and adhere to safe work practices and procedures.
  • Ensures team members receive the necessary training and certifications to obtain the skills needed to safely perform maintenance activities.
  • Personal attention to and direct involvement in maintaining a clean and orderly work environment, including improvements in the housekeeping standards through the 5S process.
  • Responsible for coaching employees & addressing performance issues to ensure performance expectations are met in order to achieve team goals.
  • Actively participates in the Manufacturing Work System process
  • Ensures work requests are generated by their maintenance technicians from PMs and other inspections.
  • Supervises the execution of jobs according to the Daily Work Schedule.
  • Uses initiative to seek out root cause of failures and take steps to correct and prevent recurrences.  Assists in the RCFA corrective actions and helps eliminate chronic equipment issues. Lead and/or participate in Root Cause Failure analysis.
  • Champion of precision maintenance practices for their team.  Ensures equipment installation and repairs are completed to Company best practice/precision practices.
  • Responsible to schedule and monitor contract work within his or her area of responsibility as directed by AMM.
  • Solicits recommendations from maintenance technicians on improving existing procedures and Standard Job Plans.
  • Reviews preliminary drawings, specifications, and plans from Engineering and recommends changes when necessary.
  • Works closely with the Maintenance Planner to update and maintain correct Bill of Materials, spare parts, and Standard Job Plans.
  • Ensures maintenance technicians receive necessary training to maintain and improve their skill levels.  Works to maximize mechanic flexibility.  Assigns maintenance technicians to tasks that will enhance skill development.

 

Skills You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent maintenance technical work experience
  • Set-up FLL experience a plus
  • Good safety, performance, and attendance record
  • Willing to work on rotating shifts
  • Must successfully complete FLL Training & Certification program
  • Manufacturing experience (Operations or Maintenance)
