Variable pay may provide additional opportunities for financial awards. This job is eligible to participate in IP’s short –term incentive plan.

The Job You Will Perform:

The Savannah Mill is currently seeking a qualified Planning and Logistics Analyst.  This position will be responsible to provide safe and efficient support for overall coordination of Supply Chain and Logistics for the Savannah Mill.  This position will report to the PS&D Manager.


  • Rotating functional and financial responsibilities across multiple disciplines within the PS&D organization.  Those processes will include but not be exclusive to Paper machine planning and scheduling, transportation, shipping mode and equipment securement, ancillary spending and inventory management.
  • May act as the primary contact coordinating with third party logistics.  Class 1 railroads, over the road trucking, truck spotting, dray and rail spotting service providers to confirm timely and accurate services are provided to the facility.
  • Ensure standard inventory processes are followed to accurately manage, track and report paper inventories.
  • Accurately forecast and cost effectively manage DLK inventory through interaction within mill, sourcing and supplier.
  • Accurate and timely communication with all stakeholders involved in processes.
  • Work weekends and holidays as scheduled.


The Skills You Will Bring:

  • Degree in Business, Logistics or equivalent experience.
  • 1-2 year’s experience in Warehouse Management, Shipping or Inventory Control.
  • Prefer 3-5 year’s experience in logistics or transportation field.
  • Experience in pulp and paper preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills (written and oral).
  • Proven ability working in a customer-focused organization to meet its business objectives.
  • Deliberate improvement experience preferred.
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Basic SAP knowledge required, SAP proficiency preferred.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Must have good presentation skills.  Must be able to speak and articulate critical information to a diverse audience.
  • Active participation in safety, problem solving and other team activities.
