Pay Rate:

$108,200-$157,800

Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range.

The Job You Will Perform:

 

  • Responsible for environmental compliance for air, wastewater, solid waste, and hazardous waste streams and systems
  • Lead proactive identification and assessment of regulatory compliance risks across the Mill
  • Develop and implement solutions to ensure ongoing environmental compliance and drive timely resolution of potential non-compliance issues, engaging key stakeholders throughout
  • Champion a culture of employee engagement, accountability and continuous improvement in environmental regulatory performance
  • Provide leadership to a team of environmental engineers and laboratory technicians through performance management and professional development
  • Align environmental strategies for the Mill to achieve Company, Business and Mill objectives including Sustainability goals
  • Provide support during development and implementation of regulatory compliance projects and programs
  • Interact with corporate leaders, regulatory agencies, and subject matter experts
  • Manage complex environmental permitting and regulatory tracking for the mill
  • Manage resources such as consultants and/or salaried staff as required to prepare accurate and timely compliance reports and permits
  • Investigate and identify root cause and counter measures for environmental incidents including near misses
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of all regulatory and corporate submittals
  • Conduct environmental training, including annual review and material improvement
  • Participate in a weekend rotation team as an HSE resource 

 

The Skills You Will Bring:

 

  • Instill safety as a core value within the team and effectively communicate a shared vision for safety
  • B.S. degree in Environmental Science, engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Five (5+) years’ experience in manufacturing environment, preferably in an HSE field.
  • Environmental compliance experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Experience with regulatory & electronic reporting systems (e.g., Title V, MACT, DMR) is preferred.
  • Knowledgeable of emerging environmental regulations
  • Actively promote a culture of engagement and respect
  • Utilize excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate to groups and individuals at all levels including external regulatory agencies and community members
  • Work effectively alone and within a team
  • Analyze problems and develop solutions independently or with teams
  • Utilize strong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks effectively
  • Good computer skills in applications, i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PI, Proficy
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills; presentation and training delivery skills
  • Must have strong influencing and leadership skills.
