Pay Rate:

 $81,700 - $108,900

Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range.

Riverdale Mill, located in Selma AL, is a complex, fully integrated pulp and paper manufacturing facility with two machines, one producing Brite Top liner and one producing uncoated free sheet.  In addition to the machines, the mill includes multiple process lines, including wood handling, pulping and OCC, power and recovery, sheeting operations, and effluent treatment.  The E/l FLL leads an electrical instrumentation maintenance crew of approximately ten (10) hourly team members supporting one of Riverdale Mill’s operating areas and works in partnership with the area Mechanical FLL to ensure the reliable operation of the area equipment.  This position reports to the Business Unit Area Maintenance Manager (AMM).

 

The Job You Will Perform:

The FLL-Paper will be heavily involved in a broad spectrum of areas including operations, maintenance, technical, and people. 

  • Lead and direct the hourly team in a goal-oriented environment to deliver results in the areas of safety, engagement, and operational excellence.
  • Manage in a goal-oriented environment to deliver target results in the areas of safety, environmental compliance, employee engagement, reliability, cost, quality, and productivity
  • Approve pay and vacation scheduling for the team and other administrative tasks related to managing an operating team.
  • Manage team compliance with company and mill policies, procedures, and other requirements.
  • Conduct 1:1s with employees to provide and receive guidance and development feedback.
  • Identify individual and organizational training needs and implement training plans (hard and soft skills).
  • Complete production and inventory-related reporting activities.
  • Conduct audits for safety, environmental compliance, and effective operation each shift.
  • Effectively execute work systems to ensure consistent and sustainable results, including modifying systems as needed ensure continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate completion of operational tasks in support of area reliability and maintenance activities, such as submission of work notifications, isolation and lockout, basic care equipment inspections, and other similar tasks, working in alignment with MWS and other reliability processes to ensure world class reliability is achieved.
  • Support execution of routine and annual outages
  • Work as a team across shifts to execute consistent operating practices
  • Interface with other departments to ensure quality parameters are achieved and maintained.
  • Interface with other areas to ensure adequate inventory management and optimum overall mill balance
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and support identification and implementation of solutions.
  • Seek out and implement best practices using teams, databases, vendors, and other technical resources
  • Champion 5S principles, personally acting in alignment with 5S as well as leading the crew to do the same, and participating in audits within the department as needed

 

The Skills You Will Bring:

  • B.S. degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience required.
  • Prefer 3 to 5 years’ experience in Pulp, Power, Paper or Sheeting/Shipping/Warehousing operations. 
  • Previous supervisory experience a plus. 
  • If not already completed, successful candidate will be required to participate in IP’s Front Line Leader or other equivalent formal leadership development program.
