We are looking for motivated individuals who are capable of performing a mulitude of functions in a flexible, fast-paced environment.  We currently have several openings for the Entry Level Mounter-Platemaker Production position which will produce, mount and ship quality photopolymer printing plates in our Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Area.


Organizational Authority:

  • Train employees on the operation of all mounting and plate making procedures.

Organizational Interfaces: 

  • Works in conjunction with all departments within the facility.
  • Responsible safe operation at all levels while on site, as well as team members’ safety.
  • Participation in Safety Committee.
  • Support quality programs and processes.
  • Work in a Team Environment



  1. Create an atmosphere and culture that drives toward an accident free workplace.
  2. Responsible for all paperwork and checklists created in the platemaking/mounting process.
  3. Must be sensitive to all types of waste and minimize the impact of waste in all areas and materials used daily.
  4. Review and understand order instructions and any other necessary paperwork to ensure fully what is required to produce a quality product.
  5. Maintain equipment (perform preventative maintenance as scheduled)
  6. Follows all published Standard Operating Procedures.
  7. Complete daily housekeeping in order to maintain a safe and clean environment / Perform weekly audits as scheduled.
  8. Enter your worked hours daily into a time reporting system.
  9. Special projects as assigned.
  10. Weekly inventory of all platemaking supplies.
  11. Performs quality checks.
  12. Packaging and shipment of plates to outside customers.
  13. Able to back-up and help support the mounting department.
  14. Confirm and prepare all materials used in the platemaking process.
  15. Process plates for finished product to customer and/or mounting (cutting apart, beveling, adding centerlines, adding sticky back as required, packing for shipment requiring specific customer specifications).
  16. Prep and trim plates for mounting use.
  17. Record produced plates in the platemaking log.
  18. Check in pre-made plates from suppliers.
  19. Provide backup for Mounter.
  20. Preps plates for Mounting
  21. Review advance copies to ensure special mounting instructions and customer’s specifications are met.
  22. Mount digital printing plates on cylinders using one of two Harley Optichek mounters.
  23. Visual check of plates and backing to ensure no defects.
  24. Producing a roll off (sample print using plates)
  25. Cutting of prep work and sealing of mounted jobs
  26. Taking pictures of mounter’s roll off.
  27. Assist with inventory of shipping and mounting supplies as requested by Plate Supervisor.
  28. Prepare mounted jobs for shipment including confirming all items listed on Bill of Lading are included, address labels are correct and any special shipping instructions are being followed.
  29. Weekly inventory of all mounting supplies.
  30. Understand schedule and make sure jobs are prioritized according to deadlines.
  31. Provide back-up for Plate making
  32. Other duties as assigned.
    Required Skills
  1. Understanding of photopolymer printing plates helpful.
  2. Knowledge of the flexographic printing process helpful.
  3. Able to handle multiple projects at one time.
  4. Able to complete tasks with little or no supervision.
  5. Good analytical and decision making skills.
  6. Good written and verbal communication skills.
  7. Good interpersonal skills.
  8. Good organizational skills.
  9. Background in problem solving and continuous improvement.
  10. Basic computer skills. (Microsoft Word and Excel)
    Education/Experience Requirements
  1. High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  2. Previous printing, platemaking or mounting experience helpful.

Minimum qualifications for consideration:

At least one year of experience working in a manufacturing environment.  Applicants must have a stable work history, good attendance record, positive attitude and a desire to produce quality work as part of a team.  Experience in the corrugated industry is a plus.
