Job Description:
The Production Worker position is an entry level position. Team members with this classification report to the production supervisor. The production supervisor will assign Production Worker team members to work a variety of positions throughout the facility. Production Worker team members will primarily be assigned to work in the Cassette department. This individual must be a self-motivated team player.
Duties:
- Follows all plant and machine safety procedures.
- Comply with this facility’s environmental policy and environmental management system.
- Is trained and licensed to operate lift trucks.
- Trained to operate the Shredder and Baler.
- Trained to operate the Strapper/Wrapper.
- Understands all aspects of the Cassette operations.
- Ensures proper bag and corrugated are used.
- Set up machine.
- Operates machine to standard or above.
- Performs product quality inspections throughout the manufacturing process.
- Able to identify and quickly correct and or segregate quality defects.
- Properly labels/stamps cassettes.
- Accurately completes production work orders.
- Operate lift truck to stage materials as needed (pallets, bags, corrugated, etc.)
- Performs preventative maintenance on the machine and completes supporting documents.
- Cleans and organizes machine and work area to maintain a safe work environment.
- Performs other duties as specified by supervisor.
Essential Functions
- Inspect liners and various materials prior to assembling finished cassette.
- Place liners and heating blankets inside corrugate material prior to folding.
- All cassette operator task must be done while maintaining the highest safety, best food practices and quality.
- Assist in the daily production through Production Work Orders. (This includes the documentation of how many cassettes were made to how many bags and corrugated were scrapped during a production run. This may be done through various means of communication and recordkeeping practices, including logs, files, reports, and systems)
The Skills You Will Bring:
Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications:
- High school degree or GED (or equivalent experience) preferred
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment preferred
- Prior experience in the corrugated manufacturing industry or food manufacturing industry highly preferred
- Stable work history and good attendance record
